Position: Safety Officer
Project Location: GAIL USAR

Position Overview
We are looking for a qualified and vigilant Safety Officer to enforce Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) protocols for our ongoing civil and structural works at GAIL USAR. The candidate will be responsible for hazard identification, daily safety compliance, workplace inspections, and ensuring strict adherence to statutory safety standards and client requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Work Permit Management: Secure and renew work permits from EIL/GAIL twice daily based on the nature of site activities, ensuring all safety parameters are met on dot prior to work commencement.
- Safety Monitoring & Compliance: Conduct regular daily safety patrols, monitor high-risk operations (working at heights, excavation, lifting, hot work), and ensure proper usage of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
- Incident Prevention & Reporting: Investigate near-misses and incidents, maintain accurate site safety reports and feedback logs, and ensure all corrective action points are closed out timely.
- Worker Communication: Communicate safety instructions effectively, leveraging proficiency in the primary language spoken by the majority of the site workforce.
Candidate Qualifications & Eligibility (Strict Compliance)
- Option A (Engineering/Architecture): Recognized degree in any branch of Engineering/Technology or Architecture with 2 years of practical supervisory experience in building/construction work; OR a recognized diploma in Engineering/Technology with 5* years* of practical supervisory experience in construction.
- Option B (Science Background): Graduation degree in Science (Physics or Chemistry) with 5 years of practical experience working as a Safety Officer in building, plant, or construction works (in line with the Indian Factories Act, 1948).
- Mandatory Safety Qualification: Recognized degree or a 1-year diploma in Industrial Safety (from an AICTE or State Council of Tech Education recognized institution) with at least one paper in construction safety as an elective.
- Language Proficiency: Must possess adequate knowledge of the language spoken by the majority of workers (Hindi and English) at the GAIL USAR site.
2. Scope & Responsibilities: HSE In-Charge
Position: HSE In-Charge (Lead Safety Oversight)
Project Location: GAIL USAR
Position Overview
The HSE In-Charge will spearhead the safety management system, internal/external audit schedules, regulatory compliance, and high-level safety coordination with EIL and GAIL representatives at the GAIL USAR project site.
Key Responsibilities & Auditing Protocols
- Internal HSE Audits:
- Conduct internal HSE audits regularly on a semi-annual (six-monthly) basis by deploying qualified internal safety officers/construction personnel possessing 5 years of experience in construction safety and ISO 45001 / OHSAS 18001 Lead Auditor certification.
- Ensure a minimum of two internal HSE audits are executed regardless of the contract duration.
- External HSE Audits:
- Coordinate and manage external HSE audits annually by engaging authorized auditing agencies (e.g., National Safety Council) or qualified external auditors with 10 years of construction safety experience and ISO 45001 / OHSAS 18001 Lead Auditor certification.
- Ensure a minimum of one external HSE audit is conducted irrespective of contract timelines.
- Facilitate EIL/Owner participation in opening and closing meetings, incorporate external auditor inputs, and review audit outcomes during formal HSE meetings with EIL/Owner.
- Reporting & Stakeholder Alignment: Regularly attend HSE review meetings, submit comprehensive site safety reports, gather feedback, and ensure prompt closure of all safety bullet points.
Pay: ₹14,732.15 - ₹50,342.55 per month
