Role Overview
We are looking for a motivated and energetic Junior Shift In-Charge to support the smooth operation of our power generation facilities. The candidate will assist in monitoring plant operations, ensuring equipment performance, maintaining safety standards, and supporting senior engineers during shift operations.
This position is ideal for diploma holders looking to build a long-term career in the renewable energy and power generation sector.
Key ResponsibilitiesPlant Operations
- Monitor plant equipment and systems during assigned shifts.
- Assist in operating generators, transformers, switchgear, and auxiliary equipment.
- Record operational parameters and maintain shift logs.
- Ensure uninterrupted plant operations and report abnormalities immediately.
- Support startup and shutdown activities as per standard operating procedures.
Equipment Monitoring & Maintenance
- Conduct routine inspections of electrical and mechanical equipment.
- Identify and report faults, breakdowns, or abnormal operating conditions.
- Assist maintenance teams during preventive and corrective maintenance activities.
- Ensure proper housekeeping of plant equipment and operational areas.
Safety & Compliance
- Follow all plant safety regulations and company SOPs.
- Ensure proper use of PPE and safe working practices.
- Participate in safety drills and emergency response activities.
- Report unsafe conditions and incidents promptly.
Documentation & Reporting
- Maintain daily operational records and checklists.
- Prepare shift reports and handover notes.
- Record equipment readings and performance data accurately.
- Assist in maintaining maintenance and inspection records.
Team Support
- Coordinate with operators, technicians, and senior engineers.
- Support smooth shift handovers.
- Participate in training and skill development programs.
- Demonstrate discipline, accountability, and teamwork.
Required Qualifications
- Diploma in Electrical Engineering (Mandatory).
- Valid Electrical License preferred.
- 1–3 years of experience in power plants, renewable energy projects, industrial electrical operations, or manufacturing facilities.
- Basic knowledge of electrical systems, switchgear, transformers, motors, and control panels.
- Understanding of plant safety practices and operational procedures.
- Ability to work in rotational shifts and plant-site environments.
