Job Summary:
We are looking for a Design Engineer with hands-on experience in Wiring Harness Design, CATIA, and Vehicle Layout for automotive product development. The ideal candidate should have experience in routing and packaging of wiring harnesses, component integration, and vehicle-level electrical architecture while ensuring compliance with OEM standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop automotive wiring harnesses using CATIA V5 (Electrical Harness Design/Installation workbench preferred).
- Perform vehicle layout and packaging activities for wiring harness routing and electrical components.
- Create and modify 2D drawings, 3D models, assemblies, and installation layouts.
- Ensure proper harness routing considering packaging, manufacturability, serviceability, and safety requirements.
- Coordinate with cross-functional teams including Electrical, Mechanical, Packaging, Manufacturing, and Suppliers.
- Prepare and maintain engineering documentation including BOM, drawings, and design release documents.
- Support design validation, issue resolution, and engineering change management activities.
- Ensure compliance with OEM standards, GD&T, and automotive design guidelines.
Mandatory Skills
- Strong experience in CATIA V5.
- Experience in Wiring Harness Design and routing.
- Experience in Vehicle Layout / Vehicle Packaging.
- Knowledge of automotive electrical systems and harness installation.
- Ability to create 2D drawings and 3D models.
- Understanding of BOM, engineering drawings, and design documentation.
- Good communication and coordination skills.
Preferred Skills
- Experience with PLM tools such as Teamcenter or Windchill.
- Knowledge of GD&T and DFMEA.
- Exposure to EV or ICE vehicle development projects.
- Understanding of automotive development lifecycle and OEM processes
Pay: Up to ₹800,000.00 per year
