Key Responsibilities
- Prepare moulds using green sand / resin sand / CO₂ process as per foundry practice.
- Operate moulding machines (jolt squeeze, high-pressure moulding line, or manual moulding setup).
- Set and position patterns, core boxes, and gating systems correctly.
- Ensure proper ramming, venting, and mould hardness as per specification.
- Inspect moulds for defects such as cracks, erosion, misalignment, or improper gating.
- Coordinate with core shop, melting, and pouring teams for smooth production flow.
- Maintain moulding equipment and tools in good working condition.
- Follow process sheets and production schedules strictly.
- Maintain records of production output and report deviations.
- Follow all foundry safety procedures and wear mandatory PPE.
Required Qualifications
- ITI / Diploma in Foundry Technology, Mechanical, or related field preferred.
- 2–5 years of experience in SG Iron / Steel casting foundry.
- Knowledge of sand properties, mould hardness testing, and gating systems.
- Understanding of casting defects and preventive measures.
- Basic understanding of engineering drawings.
