AI & Vibe Coding Mentor (Remote, Part-Time)
VMotiv8 Education – Online Mentor | Independent Contractor
Help ambitious middle and high school students ship real AI products—not toy tutorials. Mentor grades 8–12 from idea to launched application using AI-native tools (Cursor, Claude Code, Replit, Lovable, v0, Bolt) plus real engineering fundamentals.
About VMotiv8
VMotiv8 Education is a boutique college admissions and edtech company (Atlanta, GA) with 13+ years of guiding students to Ivy League/Top 20 outcomes (95% top-choice acceptance; $59M+ scholarships). Our Passion Project program pairs students with industry mentors to build startups, research papers, AI apps, and prototypes that stand out in admissions.
What You’ll Do
- Run weekly 60-minute online sessions (1:1 or small group) moving students from idea → scoped MVP → launched product with real users.
- Teach AI-native development: prompt-driven scaffolding, AI pair programming, reviewing/correcting generated code, and knowing when to stop trusting the model.
- Build fundamentals alongside tools: Git/GitHub, debugging, APIs/auth, databases (e.g., Supabase), deployment (e.g., Vercel), and basic security/privacy hygiene.
- Guide LLM-powered features: model API calls, prompt design, retrieval, evaluation, cost control, and responsible-use guardrails.
- Coach product thinking: user interviews, problem statements, MVP scope, launch plans, and tracking against a North Star metric.
- Help students create tangible proof points: launched apps, hackathon wins, Congressional App Challenge entries, open-source contributions, short technical write-ups.
- Package work for college applications: demo videos, strong READMEs, project descriptions, and interview talking points.
- Log session notes and progress in the VMotiv8 platform after every session; contribute to monthly family progress reports.
