Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Production Manager to oversee end-to-end garment manufacturing operations. The ideal candidate will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and monitoring production activities to ensure timely delivery, quality standards, cost efficiency, and optimum resource utilization. Prior experience in garment manufacturing units, preferably in Tiruppur, is essential.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan, schedule, and oversee daily production activities to achieve production targets.
- Manage the complete garment production process, including cutting, stitching, finishing, packing, and dispatch.
- Ensure adherence to quality standards and customer specifications throughout the production cycle.
- Monitor production efficiency, minimise wastage, and improve productivity.
- Coordinate with merchandising, planning, procurement, quality, maintenance, and warehouse teams for smooth operations.
- Ensure machinery, equipment, and manpower are effectively utilised.
- Identify production bottlenecks and implement corrective and preventive actions.
- Maintain production reports, output records, rejection reports, and efficiency metrics.
- Ensure compliance with workplace safety, labour laws, and company policies.
- Train, motivate, and supervise production supervisors and shop-floor employees.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance productivity, quality, and cost control.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Textile Engineering, Apparel Technology, Production, or a related discipline.
- 8–12 years of experience in garment manufacturing, with at least 3 years in a Production Manager or similar leadership role.
- Strong knowledge of garment production processes, line balancing, capacity planning, and industrial engineering concepts.
- Familiarity with quality systems, production planning, lean manufacturing, and cost optimisation.
- Excellent leadership, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet production deadlines.
Preferred Skills
- Experience working in export-oriented garment manufacturing units.
- Knowledge of compliance standards and buyer requirements.
- Proficiency in MS Excel and ERP/MIS systems.
- Strong communication skills in Tamil; English communication is an added advantage.
Pay: ₹25,000.00 - ₹40,000.00 per month
