Job Purpose
To maintain, troubleshoot, repair, and install hydraulic systems and equipment to ensure smooth and uninterrupted plant operations.
Key ResponsibilitiesMaintenance Activities
- Carry out preventive, predictive, and breakdown maintenance of hydraulic systems.
- Inspect hydraulic cylinders, pumps, motors, valves, hoses, and pipelines.
- Repair and replace damaged hydraulic components.
- Monitor hydraulic oil levels, pressure, and system performance.
- Perform alignment and assembly of hydraulic equipment.
Troubleshooting
- Identify hydraulic system failures and leakages.
- Diagnose pressure, flow, and temperature-related issues.
- Attend emergency breakdowns and restore equipment within minimum downtime.
- Analyze root causes and suggest corrective actions.
Installation & Commissioning
- Install hydraulic power packs, cylinders, pumps, and control valves.
- Assist in commissioning of new hydraulic systems and equipment.
- Carry out testing and performance checks after maintenance.
Safety & Compliance
- Follow all plant safety procedures and permit systems.
- Ensure proper housekeeping in maintenance areas.
- Use PPE while performing maintenance activities.
- Comply with safety, quality, and environmental standards.
Documentation
- Record maintenance activities in maintenance logs.
- Report equipment abnormalities to supervisors.
- Maintain spare parts consumption records.

Required Qualification
- ITI Fitter / ITI Mechanical / Diploma Mechanical.
- Hydraulic maintenance certification preferred.
Experience
- 2–8 years in hydraulic maintenance of manufacturing plants, steel plants, cement plants, foundries, or ductile iron pipe plants.
Required Skills
- Reading hydraulic circuit diagrams.
- Hydraulic troubleshooting and fault finding.
- Pump and cylinder overhauling.
- Hose and fitting replacement.
- Preventive and breakdown maintenance.
- Knowledge of hydraulic safety practices.
