Roles and Responsibilities of a Pre-Primary Teacher1. Planning and Conducting Learning Activities
- Prepare daily lesson plans based on the children’s age and learning level.
- Teach basic concepts such as:
- Alphabets
- Numbers
- Colors
- Shapes
- Rhymes and stories
- Use play-way and activity-based teaching methods.
2. Creating a Safe and Friendly Environment
- Ensure the classroom is clean, safe, and welcoming.
- Encourage children to feel comfortable and confident.
- Maintain discipline with patience and kindness.
3. Supporting Child Development
Help children develop:
- Social skills (sharing, teamwork)
- Emotional skills (confidence, expressing feelings)
- Physical skills (drawing, dancing, movement activities)
- Language and communication skills
4. Observing and Assessing Students
- Monitor each child’s progress and behavior.
- Identify learning difficulties or special needs early.
- Maintain records of attendance and development.
5. Encouraging Creativity
- Organize activities like:
- Art and craft
- Singing and dancing
- Storytelling
- Games and role play
- Encourage imagination and curiosity.
6. Communicating with Parents
- Discuss children’s progress with parents regularly.
- Guide parents on supporting learning at home.
- Inform parents about behavior or health concerns.
7. Managing Classroom Activities
- Arrange teaching materials and classroom displays.
- Supervise children during meals, playtime, and outdoor activities.
- Ensure all children participate equally.
