Key Roles & Responsibilities
Drafting & Documentation
- Prepare detailed MEP shop drawings, GA drawings, and coordination drawings using AutoCAD and Revit MEP.
- Develop HVAC layout drawings including ducting, piping, equipment placement, and diffuser layouts.
- Prepare schematic diagrams, single-line diagrams (SLDs), riser diagrams, and control diagrams for HVAC systems.
- Draft plumbing, firefighting, and electrical layouts in coordination with respective disciplines.
- Generate isometric drawings, sectional details, and installation drawings for site execution.
- Prepare as-built drawings based on site execution and markups.
- Maintain proper documentation, revision control, and drawing registers.
HVAC Design
- Perform heat load calculations using HAP / E20 software for various building types.
- Carry out duct sizing, pipe sizing, and equipment selection (AHUs, FCUs, chillers, VRF/VRV systems, cooling towers, pumps).
- Design ventilation systems including fresh air, exhaust, staircase pressurisation, and basement ventilation.
- Prepare psychrometric calculations, airflow diagrams, and pressure drop calculations.
- Select appropriate HVAC equipment based on project requirements, energy efficiency, and cost considerations.
- Prepare technical specifications, datasheets, and BOQs for HVAC systems.
- Ensure designs comply with ASHRAE, ISHRAE, SMACNA, NBC, and other relevant standards.
Coordination & Support
- Coordinate with architectural, structural, and other MEP disciplines to resolve design clashes.
- Perform clash detection and coordination reviews using Navisworks / BIM tools.
- Support project teams during design reviews, client presentations, and value engineering exercises.
- Liaise with vendors and consultants for technical clarifications and equipment approvals.
- Review contractor / vendor drawings and provide technical comments.
- Assist in the preparation of tender drawings, specifications, and BOQs.
Key Skills & Requirements
- Diploma / B.E. in Mechanical Engineering.
- 7+ years of relevant experience in MEP drafting with strong HVAC design exposure.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD (2D & 3D), Revit MEP, and Navisworks.
- Hands-on experience with HVAC design software: HAP, E20, McQuay Duct Sizer, Pipe Sizer.
- Strong knowledge of HVAC systems including chilled water systems, VRF/VRV, ducting, and ventilation.
- Sound understanding of heat load calculations, psychrometrics, and equipment selection.
- Familiarity with ASHRAE, ISHRAE, SMACNA, NBC, and NFPA standards.
- Working knowledge of plumbing, firefighting, and electrical drafting is preferred.
- Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) for calculations and reporting.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and attention-to-detail skills.
- Excellent communication and coordination abilities.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and deliverables under tight timelines.
Pay: ₹30,000.00 - ₹50,000.00 per month
