Job Summary
The Staff Nurse is responsible for providing safe, compassionate, and evidence-based nursing care to patients in accordance with physician orders, hospital policies, and NABH standards. The role includes patient assessment, medication administration, monitoring clinical conditions, maintaining documentation, and promoting patient safety and quality care.
Key ResponsibilitiesPatient Care
- Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate nursing care for assigned patients.
- Monitor patients' vital signs and clinical condition, reporting any changes promptly to the treating physician.
- Administer medications, IV fluids, blood products, and treatments as prescribed.
- Assist physicians during examinations, procedures, and emergencies.
- Prepare patients for diagnostic tests, surgeries, and other medical procedures.
- Maintain patient comfort, dignity, privacy, and confidentiality.
- Ensure safe patient transfer within and outside the hospital.
Clinical Responsibilities
- Maintain accurate nursing records, medication charts, and patient documentation.
- Perform wound dressing, catheterization, IV cannulation, specimen collection, and other nursing procedures as per protocol.
- Monitor intake/output, pain assessment, and patient recovery.
- Respond effectively to medical emergencies and participate in Code Blue situations.
- Ensure proper handover during shift changes.
Infection Control & Patient Safety
- Follow hospital infection prevention and control protocols.
- Adhere to hand hygiene and aseptic techniques.
- Ensure proper biomedical waste segregation and disposal.
- Comply with medication safety, patient identification, and fall prevention policies.
- Maintain compliance with NABH standards and hospital quality protocols.
Equipment & Inventory
- Ensure proper functioning of nursing equipment and report faults immediately.
- Maintain adequate stock of medicines, consumables, and emergency supplies.
- Check crash carts and emergency equipment regularly.
Patient & Family Education
- Educate patients and their families regarding:
- Treatment plans
- Medication compliance
- Diet and nutrition
- Personal hygiene
- Discharge instructions
- Follow-up care
Documentation
- Maintain accurate and timely nursing documentation.
- Record nursing assessments, interventions, medication administration, and patient progress.
- Report incidents, medication errors, and adverse events as per hospital policy.
Qualification
- GNM (General Nursing & Midwifery) or
- B.Sc. Nursing from a recognized institution.
- Valid State Nursing Council Registration is mandatory.
Experience
- 0–2 years: Junior Staff Nurse (Freshers may be considered).
- 2–5 years: Experience in a multi-specialty hospital preferred.
- Experience in ICU, OT, Emergency, NICU, Dialysis, Cath Lab, or other specialty areas will be an added advantage.
Required Skills
- Strong clinical and nursing care skills.
- Knowledge of medication administration and patient monitoring.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification; ACLS certification preferred.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Working Conditions
- Rotational shifts, including day, night, weekends, and public holidays.
- Exposure to infectious diseases and medical emergencies.
- Use of appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is mandatory.
- Continuous interaction with patients, doctors, and multidisciplinary healthcare teams.
Pay: ₹20,000.00 - ₹25,000.00 per month
