Job Purpose
The Physics Teacher is responsible for delivering engaging and concept-driven Physics instruction to students in Grades 8–10 while also preparing students for IIT Foundation and other competitive examinations. The teacher fosters scientific inquiry, analytical thinking, and strong problem-solving skills through interactive, practical, and application-based learning experiences.
Key ResponsibilitiesCurriculum Planning & Instruction
- Plan and deliver high-quality Physics lessons aligned with the CBSE curriculum for Grades 8–10.
- Teach fundamental concepts in Mechanics, Electricity, Magnetism, Light, Heat, Sound, Motion, Force, Energy, and Modern Physics.
- Build strong conceptual understanding through experiments, demonstrations, simulations, and real-life applications.
- Integrate Higher Order Thinking Skills (HOTS) and competency-based learning into classroom instruction.
- Differentiate instruction to meet the learning needs of diverse students.
IIT Foundation Programme
- Design and deliver IIT Foundation classes for middle and secondary school students.
- Teach advanced Physics concepts beyond the regular curriculum.
- Prepare students for competitive examinations such as NTSE, Olympiads, JEE Foundation, and other aptitude-based assessments.
- Develop students' analytical reasoning, quantitative aptitude, and logical problem-solving skills.
- Conduct regular mock tests, practice sessions, doubt-clearing classes, and performance analysis.
- Mentor high-potential students and create individualized improvement plans.
Laboratory & Practical Work
- Plan and supervise Physics laboratory experiments safely and effectively.
- Ensure proper use, maintenance, and inventory of laboratory equipment.
- Promote inquiry-based and hands-on scientific learning.
- Maintain laboratory records and ensure compliance with safety procedures.
Assessment & Evaluation
- Prepare question papers, worksheets, assignments, and competency-based assessments.
- Conduct formative and summative assessments.
- Evaluate answer scripts promptly and provide constructive feedback.
- Analyse student performance data and implement intervention strategies where required.
- Maintain accurate academic records and assessment documentation.
Student Development
- Encourage curiosity, innovation, and scientific temperament.
- Guide students in Physics projects, exhibitions, science fairs, and competitions.
- Inspire students to pursue STEM-related careers.
- Provide academic mentoring and career guidance related to science and engineering pathways.
Classroom Management
- Maintain a disciplined, inclusive, and positive learning environment.
- Promote active participation, collaboration, and respectful classroom behaviour.
- Foster independent thinking and lifelong learning habits.
Parent Communication
- Communicate student progress effectively with parents during Parent-Teacher Meetings.
- Provide timely updates regarding academic performance and improvement strategies.
- Address academic concerns professionally and collaboratively.
Lesson Planning & Documentation
- Prepare annual plans, unit plans, lesson plans, and digital teaching resources.
- Maintain assessment records, student portfolios, and academic documentation.
- Complete all reports and documentation within school timelines.
Collaboration
- Work closely with Mathematics, Chemistry, and Biology teachers to integrate interdisciplinary learning.
- Collaborate with coordinators in curriculum planning and academic initiatives.
- Support school assemblies, STEM programmes, clubs, competitions, and enrichment activities.
Professional Development
- Participate in workshops, seminars, and professional development programmes.
- Stay updated with the latest CBSE guidelines, NEP recommendations, and competitive examination trends.
- Continuously improve teaching practices through reflection and innovation.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Physics or a related Science discipline.
- B.Ed. (Mandatory/Preferred as per school policy).
- Minimum 3–5 years of teaching experience in secondary classes.
- Prior experience in IIT Foundation, Olympiad, NTSE, or JEE coaching is highly desirable.

Working Hours
As per school policy, including additional hours for IIT Foundation classes, remedial sessions, mock tests, and academic mentoring when required.
Other Responsibilities
- Perform duties assigned by the Principal or Academic Coordinator.
- Supervise students during examinations, laboratory sessions, assemblies, and school events.
- Organise and support science exhibitions, Olympiads, quizzes, workshops, and other STEM-related activities.
- Contribute to curriculum development, question bank creation, and academic excellence initiatives.
Pay: ₹25,000.00 - ₹40,000.00 per month
