Job Title: Service Engineer - In-Vitro Diagnostics (IVD)

Base Location: Nagpur / Pune / Mumbai
Job Summary
The Service Engineer - IVD is responsible for providing technical support, installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting services for In-Vitro Diagnostic equipment within the assigned territory. The role ensures optimal equipment performance, minimum downtime, and high customer satisfaction through effective field service support, preventive maintenance, and continuous technical development through manufacturer-led training and certification programs.
Key Responsibilities
- Install, commission, validate, and hand over IVD biomedical equipment at customer sites.
- Perform preventive maintenance (PM), calibration, troubleshooting, and breakdown services for assigned equipment within the territory.
- Ensure accurate and timely completion of service reports, installation documents, validation records, PM checklists, and other documentation as per company SOPs and quality requirements.
- Diagnose technical issues and implement effective solutions to minimize equipment downtime.
- Coordinate with customers, application teams, sales teams, and principal company support teams for timely resolution of technical issues.
- Provide basic operational assistance and technical guidance to end users whenever required.
- Attend technical training programs conducted by the principal company and successfully complete required product certifications.
- Maintain compliance with company quality systems, safety guidelines, regulatory requirements, and service procedures.
- Support equipment upgrades, software updates, relocation activities, and other field service requirements.
- Maintain professional communication with customers and develop strong long-term service relationships.
- Provide feedback on recurring technical issues and support continuous improvement initiatives.
Required Qualification
- Diploma / BE / B.Tech in Biomedical Engineering, Electronics & Communication Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related disciplines.
- 0-5 years of experience as a Biomedical Service Engineer, preferably in the IVD, laboratory diagnostics, or medical equipment industry.
- Fresh graduates with strong technical aptitude and willingness to learn may also be considered.
Preferred Skills
- Basic understanding of biomedical instrumentation, electronics, and diagnostic equipment.
- Knowledge of preventive maintenance, calibration procedures, and troubleshooting techniques.
- Good communication and customer handling skills.
- Ability to work independently in field service operations.
- Willingness to travel within the assigned territory.
- Strong problem-solving attitude and commitment to customer service excellence.
