An HR Generalist in manufacturing manages daily HR operations-recruitment, employee relations, payroll, and safety compliance-for production and staff teams. Key duties include high-volume hiring, onboarding, conducting safety training, managing shift-based worker relations, and ensuring compliance with labor laws and OSHA regulations.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
Experience: 6-10 years in a fast-paced manufacturing or industrial setting.
Knowledge: Strong understanding of labor laws, union relations (if applicable), and OSHA regulations.
Systems: Proficiency in HRIS systems (e.g., SAP, Workday, BambooHR) and Microsoft Office.
Communication: Strong interpersonal skills for interacting with shop-floor workers and management.
Key Responsibilities in Manufacturing:
Recruitment & Staffing: High-volume recruitment for manufacturing roles (operators, technicians, engineers) and managing agency workers.
Safety & Compliance: Ensuring OSHA compliance, overseeing workers' compensation claims, and maintaining safety records.
Employee Relations: Resolving grievances, conducting investigations, and managing union communications (if applicable).
Onboarding & Training: Conducting new hire orientations and coordinating shop-floor training programs.
Payroll & HRIS: Maintaining employee records, tracking attendance for multiple shifts, and managing payroll accuracy.
