Job Description – General Maintenance Technician (Electrical & Plumbing)

Key Responsibilities

Electrical Maintenance:

Inspect, maintain, and repair electrical wiring, fixtures, control panels, and switches.

Troubleshoot faults in lighting systems, fans, air conditioners, and backup power units (UPS/Inverters/Generators).

Ensure all electrical systems comply with safety standards.

Plumbing Maintenance:

Install, repair, and maintain pipes, valves, fittings, drainage systems, and water fixtures (taps, sinks, toilets).

Identify and fix water leakages, blockages, and pump issues promptly.

Oversee water tank cleaning schedules and ensure consistent water supply.

General Facility Upkeep (All-Round Work):

Perform minor carpentry, masonry, painting, and wall patch-up repairs.

Conduct routine inspections of the building infrastructure to identify potential maintenance issues before they become critical.

Coordinate with external vendors or specialized technicians for major equipment overhauls when necessary.

Maintain an inventory of tools, spare parts, and maintenance equipment.
Requirements & Qualifications

Education: ITI Certification / Diploma in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent vocational training.

Experience: 2 to 5 years of proven experience as a maintenance technician, handyman, or facilities technician.

Skills:

Strong practical knowledge of both single-phase and three-phase electrical systems.

Proficiency in diagnosing and repairing residential/commercial plumbing networks.

Ability to use a wide variety of hand and power tools safely.
