- Furnace Operations: Manage the heating, charging, and operation of furnaces (e.g., Induction, Electric Arc, or Cupola). Oversee refractory lining maintenance and repairs. [1, 2]
- Chemistry Control: Conduct spectrometer testing to control the alloy composition (e.g., carbon, silicon, manganese). Calculate and add precise alloying elements. [1, 2, 3]
- Pouring Standards: Monitor pouring temperatures, pouring speeds, and metal flow during casting. Ensure proper preheating of ladles and stopper rods. [1, 2]
- Defect Management: Identify and correct metallurgical defects such as shrinkage, inclusions, gas porosity, and misruns. [1, 2, 3]
- Safety & Compliance: Enforce strict molten metal safety protocols, ensure proper PPE usage, and maintain compliance with environmental and IATF documentation standards. [1, 2, 3, 4, 5]
