Job Summary
The Transport Supervisor is responsible for managing the organization's transportation operations, ensuring the safe, timely, and cost-effective movement of people and materials. The role includes supervising drivers, maintaining vehicles, coordinating schedules, and ensuring compliance with transport regulations.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise the day-to-day transport operations and vehicle movements.
- Plan and allocate vehicles based on operational requirements.
- Monitor driver attendance, duty schedules, and performance.
- Ensure timely pickup and drop-off services for staff, students, or materials.
- Coordinate routine vehicle servicing, repairs, and preventive maintenance.
- Maintain records of vehicle usage, fuel consumption, mileage, and maintenance.
- Ensure compliance with traffic rules, safety standards, and statutory regulations.
- Monitor fuel efficiency and implement cost-control measures.
- Handle transport-related complaints and resolve operational issues promptly.
- Conduct regular inspections to ensure vehicles are clean, roadworthy, and properly maintained.
- Maintain all vehicle documents, including insurance, registration, permits, fitness certificates, and pollution certificates.
- Coordinate with vendors and service providers for vehicle maintenance and emergency support.
- Prepare transport reports and submit updates to management.
