We are seeking an experienced and safety-oriented Production Supervisor to oversee daily manufacturing operations at our chemical production facility. In this role, you will lead a team of chemical plant operators and technicians to ensure production targets, quality standards, and environmental safety regulations (EHS/HSE) are strictly met. The ideal candidate possesses strong leadership abilities, deep technical understanding of chemical processes, and a proactive approach to operational troubleshooting.
Key ResponsibilitiesOperations & Production Management
- Oversee daily batch/continuous production runs according to scheduled targets and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
- Monitor plant machinery, reaction parameters (temperature, pressure, flow rate, pH), and material inputs to ensure optimal throughput.
- Issue daily production reports, batch manufacturing records (BMRs), and shift logs accurately.
- Coordinate with the Maintenance department to plan preventive maintenance and address equipment breakdowns promptly.
Safety, Health & Environment (EHS)
- Enforce strict adherence to chemical handling, hazardous material storage, and personal protective equipment (PPE) protocols.
- Conduct regular safety toolboxes, job safety analyses (JSA), and risk assessments before starting non-routine tasks.
- Manage waste disposal, emission monitoring, and spill response procedures in compliance with regulatory standards.
- Lead root-cause investigations for safety incidents, near-misses, or operational deviations.
Team Leadership & Shift Management
- Assign daily tasks to shift operators, technicians, and contract staff.
- Deliver on-the-job training, conduct performance appraisals, and manage operator attendance and schedules.
- Facilitate seamless shift handovers by documenting operational status, ongoing batches, and equipment issues.
Quality Control & Process Improvement
- Work closely with the Quality Control (QC) and Quality Assurance (QA) teams to verify raw materials and finished product specifications.
- Implement 5S and Lean manufacturing principles to maintain workplace organization and eliminate process waste.
- Assist process engineers in scale-up activities, process troubleshooting, and efficiency optimization initiatives.
Qualifications & SkillsRequirements
- Education: Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Chemical Engineering, Petrochemical Technology, Chemistry, or a related field.
- Experience: 3–6+ years of supervisory experience in a chemical manufacturing, pharmaceutical, or continuous process plant.
- Technical Knowledge: Hands-on experience with unit operations (distillation, reaction, filtration, drying), DCS/SCADA control systems, and chemical handling.
- Certifications (Preferred): First Aid / Fire Safety certification, OSHA / Hazwoper, or ISO 9001/14001/45001 awareness.
Competencies
- Leadership: Ability to lead shift teams under pressure and maintain strong workplace discipline.
- Problem-Solving: Quick decision-making and troubleshooting skills for chemical process anomalies.
- Communication: Clear written and verbal communication for reporting, email correspondence, and inter-departmental coordination.
Working Conditions
- Plant floor environment requiring exposure to chemical processing equipment, variable temperatures, and potential chemical hazards (with standard safety gear provided).
- Rotational shift work (including day, night, and weekend shifts as needed).
Pay: ₹18,000.00 - ₹22,000.00 per month
