The Student Counsellor plays a vital role in candidate engagement, academic guidance, and student retention. This position is responsible for guiding prospective and enrolled students through course selections, conducting academic counselling sessions, addressing student concerns, maintaining touchpoints throughout the learning journey, and driving student satisfaction and success across online, offline, and hybrid learning models. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES 1. Academic Counselling & Program Guidance • Aspirant Guidance: Conduct one-on-one counselling sessions with prospective and enrolled students to understand their learning goals, background, and competitive exam strategies. • Academic Strategy Support: Help students create structured study schedules, manage exam stress, and adopt effective learning techniques tailored to competitive examination standards. 2. Student Journey & Relationship Management • Welcome Touchpoints: Connect with newly enrolled students to establish a supportive rapport and align their expectations with course outcomes. • Milestone & Phase Calls: Conduct periodic check-in calls across key stages of the student lifecycle to monitor satisfaction, gauge academic progress, and offer encouragement. • Student Retention: Proactively identify disengaged or underperforming students, provide empathetic counselling, and offer intervention strategies to prevent dropouts. 3. Grievance Redressal & Student Support • Complaint Resolution: Act as an empathetic first point of contact for student queries, personal challenges affecting study routines, and academic grievances. • Cross-Departmental Coordination: Collaborate with the Academics, Tech, and Operations teams to ensure student concerns are resolved swiftly and effectively. • Feedback Gathering: Collect qualitative feedback from students regarding faculty performance, course pace, and infrastructure to drive continuous service improvement. 4. Academic Performance Tracking & Mentorship • Performance Analysis: Review student test scores and attendance records to identify students needing additional guidance or remedial support. • Specialized Counselling: Categorize students based on academic strengths and weaknesses, delivering tailored guidance to help boost confidence and exam performance. 5. Administration & Data Reporting • Record Maintenance: Maintain meticulous logs of counselling sessions, student interactions, feedback notes, and follow-up schedules in the CRM/Database. • Reporting: Prepare weekly and monthly student interaction reports, retention metrics, and qualitative feedback summaries for the Operations Manager. QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS Education & Experience • Bachelor’s degree. • 1–3 years of experience in student counseling, educational sales/admissions, student support, or relationship management (preferably in competitive coaching or EdTech sectors). • PSC/ Competitive exam background. Key Competencies & Soft Skills • Communication: Exceptional verbal and written communication skills in Malayalam, with a polite, persuasive, and empathetic demeanor. • Active Listening & Empathy: Ability to understand student anxieties, build trust, and offer constructive, motivating advice. • Problem-Solving: Calm, patience-first approach to conflict resolution and handling emotionally charged student situations. • Organizational Skills: Strong ability to multi-task, schedule calls, and track records for large student batches. • Proficient with MS Excel / Google Sheets, MS Word, and standard office communication tools (WhatsApp Business, MS Teams, Zoom).
Pay: ₹15,000.00 - ₹18,000.00 per month
