JOB DESCRIPTION

I. JOB DETAILS

Job Title

Attending Consultant /Associate Consultant

Reporting to

Department Head

II. JOB PURPOSE

To ensure smooth Patient care services in the hospital and take medical care of In patients under the guidance of Consultants

III. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Core Responsibilities –

Responsibilities and key tasks

To Provide Quality clinical Care to surgical Patients
To ensure timely attention and intervention for any query or requirement from the IP surgical patient.
To ensure Emergency Preparedness & Response Treatment/ Procedure/ Investigations)
To ensure that the surgical IP rounds are duly done and the patients are attended empathetically

To practice evidence based treatment regarding patient {Investigation-(profile/reports/plan)}-{Treatment- (details/drug procurement)} {Drug Allergies/ patient history}.

To Compliance with patient protocols (OP-IP/OT/ Diagnostics/ ICU/ Triage)
To Document patient File/ Prescriptions/requisitions (legible/ complete)
To ensure Documentation at the time of Discharge
To workup of all IP patients for surgery & ensure tie-up preparation consent.
To ensure adequate care of all part up cases.
To complete all OP & IP records on time with accuracy.
To ensure on-time availability of technical equipment for surgery and assist all surgical consultants in O.T. procedures
To have complete orientation of QMS and EMS system of Hospital.
To have complete Awareness about Disaster Management Programme (DMP) of the hospital.
To Comply with the service quality Process, environmental & occupational issues & policies of the respective area
To Comply with patient safety policy
To ensure safe utilization of equipments and proper waste disposal system.
To ensure that ethical Medical practice is followed.
To ensure clear and prompt communication with the admitting as well as Referral consultants.

To monitor practice of Inventory checking protocols and reporting non-compliance (Crash cart/ Instruments/ Ambulance).
To be well groomed, punctual & adhere to company policies and practices. Duties to be done as per planned monthly roaster.

IV. KEY PERFORMANCE INDICATORS

Handling of all Emergencies / patients under the guidance of respective Consultants.
Ensure updation and maintenance of Medical Record Documents
Clear communication with patients, consultants and hospital staff

Reporting the Occupational & Environmental Issues to HOD.

V. JOB REQUIREMENTS

Minimum Qualifications

MBBS; M.S. / DNB (MCh/ DNB/ FNB- As required)

Experience

Min 3 years (post MS/ DNB) & 0-2 years (post MCh/DNB/ FNB)

Technical Skills

Computer literate
Fluent with relevant equipment handling
Management of surgical emergencies.
Good clinical knowledge

Behavioural Skills

Man management skills
Good Interpersonal skills
Emergency / casualty management.

Language Skills

English
Hindi
