Job Summary
SPD Constructions Limited is looking for an experienced and result-oriented General Manager – QA/QC to lead the overall Quality Assurance and Quality Control function for high-rise building construction projects.
The incumbent will be responsible for establishing and implementing quality strategies, systems, processes, and standards across projects to ensure compliance with approved drawings, specifications, method statements, ITPs, QCPs, applicable codes, statutory requirements, and ISO standards.
The role requires strong leadership and extensive experience in managing QA/QC teams, consultants, clients, subcontractors, vendors, audits, inspections, NCR/CAR closure, quality documentation, and project handover activities.
Key Responsibilities
Quality Management & Strategy
- Develop and implement the overall QA/QC strategy, policies, procedures, and quality objectives for high-rise building projects.
- Establish and continuously improve the Project Quality Management System (QMS) in line with company requirements, project specifications, and applicable ISO standards.
- Ensure consistent implementation of quality standards and procedures across all project sites.
- Review project-specific Quality Plans, Quality Control Plans (QCPs), Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs), Method Statements, and Quality Procedures.
- Establish quality benchmarks and KPIs for projects and monitor performance against defined targets.
- Identify potential quality risks and implement preventive measures to minimize rework, defects, delays, and quality-related costs.
Project Quality Control
- Provide overall direction and technical guidance to QA/QC teams across high-rise building projects.
- Ensure construction activities are carried out in accordance with approved drawings, specifications, method statements, ITPs, QCPs, and applicable codes and standards.
- Monitor critical construction activities including RCC, reinforcement, formwork, concrete, waterproofing, masonry, plastering, façade, finishing, MEP coordination, and other major building works from a quality perspective.
- Ensure proper inspection and testing of materials, workmanship, and construction activities.
- Review and monitor testing requirements, laboratory activities, material approvals, and inspection procedures.
- Ensure proper documentation and traceability of all inspection and testing records.
Leadership & Team Management
- Lead, mentor, and develop the QA/QC team across project sites.
- Define responsibilities and performance expectations for QA/QC personnel.
- Conduct regular reviews of project quality performance and provide necessary corrective guidance.
- Identify training and development requirements for QA/QC engineers and inspectors.
- Promote a strong quality culture and right-first-time approach across project teams.
- Ensure adequate QA/QC manpower and resources are available as per project requirements.
NCR, CAPA & Quality Improvement
- Oversee the identification, reporting, investigation, and closure of Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs).
- Lead Root Cause Analysis (RCA) for major or recurring quality issues.
- Review and approve appropriate Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPA).
- Monitor recurring defects and implement preventive measures to avoid repetition.
- Track quality-related rework and identify opportunities for process improvement.
- Escalate critical quality issues to senior management and recommend appropriate corrective measures.
- Oversee the identification, reporting, investigation, and closure of Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs).
- Lead Root Cause Analysis (RCA) for major or recurring quality issues.
- Review and approve appropriate Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPA).

Audit & Compliance
- Establish and oversee internal quality audit programs across project sites.
- Review audit findings and ensure timely closure of observations and non-conformities.
- Coordinate external, client, consultant, and third-party audits.
- Ensure compliance with contractual quality requirements and applicable national/international standards.
- Monitor the effectiveness of corrective and preventive actions resulting from audits.
- Ensure project teams maintain complete and updated quality records for audit and handover purposes.
Client, Consultant & Stakeholder Coordination
- Act as the senior QA/QC representative for coordination with clients, consultants, architects, PMC teams, third-party agencies, subcontractors, and vendors.
- Participate in quality review meetings with clients and consultants.
- Resolve major quality-related issues through effective technical coordination and negotiation.
- Review and respond to client/consultant observations and ensure timely closure.
- Maintain strong professional relationships with key project stakeholders.
Subcontractor & Vendor Quality Management
- Establish quality requirements for subcontractors and vendors.
- Evaluate subcontractors' quality systems, technical capabilities, resources, and quality performance.
- Conduct or oversee subcontractor/vendor quality audits and assessments.
- Ensure subcontractors comply with approved drawings, specifications, Method Statements, ITPs, and project quality requirements.
- Monitor vendor inspection, material testing, approvals, and quality documentation.
Documentation & Reporting
- Establish a robust system for maintaining project quality documentation and records.
- Ensure proper control and maintenance of:
- Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs)
- Quality Control Plans (QCPs)
- Method Statements
- Material Approval Requests
- Inspection Requests
- Test Reports
- NCRs and CARs
- Audit Reports
- Quality Checklists
- Calibration Records
- As-built Documentation
- Project Handover Documents
- Prepare and review monthly/weekly QA/QC MIS reports, dashboards, KPIs, and quality performance reports for senior management.
- Analyze quality trends and provide management with actionable recommendations.
Project Handover & Close-Out
- Ensure timely compilation and completion of all project quality dossiers.
- Ensure quality documentation is complete, properly organized, and readily available for project handover.
- Coordinate with project teams to ensure timely closure of pending inspections, NCRs, punch points, and quality observations.
- Ensure all as-built drawings, test certificates, inspection records, warranties, approvals, and other quality-related handover documents are properly compiled.
- Support successful project completion and handover with minimum outstanding quality issues.
Pay: ₹200,000.00 - ₹275,000.00 per month
