Job Description (JD) – EPC Head (Engineering, Procurement & Construction)

Position Summary
The EPC Head is responsible for the overall planning, execution, monitoring, and successful completion of real estate construction projects within the approved timeline, budget, and quality standards. The role oversees engineering, procurement, contracts, construction, safety, statutory compliance, and project delivery while coordinating with consultants, contractors, architects, and internal stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities1. Project Planning & Execution
- Lead end-to-end execution of residential, commercial, and mixed-use real estate projects.
- Develop project execution strategies, construction schedules, and resource plans.
- Ensure projects are completed within approved timelines and budgets.
- Monitor project milestones and take corrective actions to avoid delays.
2. Engineering Management
- Review architectural, structural, MEP, and interior drawings.
- Resolve technical issues and recommend value engineering solutions.
- Ensure engineering designs comply with statutory regulations and company standards.
- Coordinate with architects, consultants, and design teams.
3. Procurement & Contracts
- Develop procurement strategies for materials, equipment, and subcontractors.
- Evaluate vendors and negotiate commercial terms.
- Approve purchase plans in coordination with procurement teams.
- Monitor procurement schedules to ensure uninterrupted project execution.
- Review contractor agreements, work orders, and contract variations.
4. Construction Management
- Supervise project managers, site engineers, and contractors.
- Ensure adherence to construction methodologies and approved specifications.
- Conduct periodic site inspections and progress reviews.
- Ensure timely completion of all project activities.
5. Budget & Cost Control
- Prepare and monitor project budgets.
- Control project costs and minimize wastage.
- Review monthly project cost reports.
- Approve cost-saving initiatives without compromising quality.
6. Quality Assurance & Quality Control
- Ensure implementation of QA/QC procedures.
- Monitor material quality and workmanship.
- Review quality audit reports and close observations.
- Ensure compliance with IS Codes, NBC, and company quality standards.
7. Health, Safety & Environment (HSE)
- Ensure implementation of safety policies across all project sites.
- Conduct safety audits and risk assessments.
- Promote a zero-accident culture.
- Ensure statutory safety compliance and PPE usage.
8. Regulatory & Statutory Compliance
- Ensure compliance with local authority approvals and applicable regulations.
- Coordinate with statutory authorities for inspections and approvals.
- Maintain compliance with environmental and labour laws.
9. Stakeholder Management
- Liaise with clients, architects, consultants, contractors, and government authorities.
- Present project updates to senior management.
- Resolve project-related issues promptly.
10. Team Leadership
- Lead, mentor, and develop project teams.
- Conduct performance reviews and identify training needs.
- Build a high-performance culture focused on accountability and continuous improvement.

Qualification
- Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering (Mandatory).
- Master's Degree in Construction Management / Project Management (Preferred).
Experience
- 18–25 years of experience in real estate construction.
- Minimum 8–10 years in a senior leadership role managing multiple projects.
- Experience in high-rise residential, commercial, and luxury developments preferred.
