Job Summary
The QA/QC Engineer is responsible for implementing quality assurance and quality control procedures for road construction projects, ensuring all work complies with project specifications, IRC/MoRTH standards, and client requirements. The role includes inspection, testing, documentation, and coordination with site teams to achieve quality objectives.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure all construction activities comply with approved drawings, specifications, and quality standards.
- Conduct inspections of earthwork, GSB, WMM, DLC, PQC, and CC road works.
- Monitor quality during batching, laying, compaction, curing, and finishing.
- Supervise field and laboratory testing of construction materials.
- Review and maintain quality documentation, inspection reports, and test records.
- Coordinate with the site team to resolve quality issues and implement corrective actions.
- Ensure calibration and proper maintenance of laboratory equipment.
- Prepare Method Statements, Inspection Test Plans (ITP), and Quality Checklists.
- Verify contractor work before submission to the client/consultant.
- Raise and close Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs) and ensure corrective/preventive actions are implemented.
- Attend quality meetings with clients, consultants, and project teams.
- Ensure compliance with IRC, MoRTH, IS Codes, and project quality procedures.
- Support internal and external quality audits.
- Monitor concrete mix design, slump, cube testing, density tests, and compaction tests.
- Maintain daily, weekly, and monthly quality reports.
Required Technical Knowledge
- Road construction quality standards (IRC & MoRTH)
- Earthwork, GSB, WMM, DLC, PQC & CC Roads
- Material testing and quality control
- Concrete technology and mix design
- Field density test, core cutting, slump test, cube testing
- Survey and measurement basics
- AutoCAD and MS Office
- Laboratory equipment handling and calibration

Preferred Experience
- Experience in National Highway (NH), State Highway (SH), or major road infrastructure projects.
