Functional Responsibilities
· Shall report to Medical Director / Infection Control Officer.
· Promote the mission, vision, and values of the organization.
· The ICN will act as a resource person to staff around specific infection control issues concerning specific patients or groups of patients.
· Responsible for developing policies and procedures within the organization related to infection control and employee health.
· The ICN will be responsible for reviewing and updating infection control policies in conjunction with the Infection Control Officer and Hospital Infection Committee.
· The ICN will track rates and types of infections through surveillance systems and report information to the HIC Committee, ICO and Medical Superintendent.
· Ensures compliance with statutory and state requirements, accreditation bodies.
· Will be responsible for all staff vaccination processes.
· Provides consultation and education to staff, physicians and any other stakeholders in respect to Infection Prevention & Control.
· Coordinate with the Hospital Infection Control Committee to determine the direction of surveillance activities and actively evaluate effectiveness of the Infection Prevention and Control Plan annually.
· Notify the State Health Department of any reportable diseases, adhering to all state procedures.
· Develop and implement continuously improved patient care procedures and control mechanisms relating to quality, compliance and infectious diseases.
· Participate in infection prevent and control education of all employees during orientation and annually thereafter, including classes in infection prevention and control practices and employee health.
· Organize Infection Prevention and Control Committee meetings and maintain all meeting minutes.
· Maintain all the records related to Infection Control Policies and procedures.
· Documentation
1) Strictly follow the hospital rules, regulations and policies.
2) Maintain all files and registers as per policy on a daily basis.
· Attendance And Grooming
1) Punctuality should be maintained.
2) Leaves should be informed in advance.
3) Scrubs should be clean and tidy.
4) Follow proper grooming standards as framed by the Management.
5) Wear ID card while on duty.
· Communication
1) Maintain good communication skills, since Infection Control Nurse should be in a position to talk to several process owners.
2) Maintain good interpersonal relationship with patients, their relatives and hospital staff.
· Safety Precautions
1) Maintain universal precaution and barrier nursing.
2) Strictly avoid wastage of stationery items in the unit.
3) Create safe environment in the ward.
4) Assist in maintaining an infection free area by periodic fumigation.
5) Strictly follow the biomedical waste management procedures.
· Training & Education
1) Participate in CNEs and other training programmes to enhance knowledge.
2) Implement the training received at work.
Assist or train the colleagues and low level staff in the department.
Pay: Up to ₹45,000.00 per month
