Job Summary
We are looking for a qualified and responsible Pharmacist to manage day-to-day pharmacy operations, ensure accurate dispensing of medicines, maintain inventory, verify prescriptions, and ensure proper storage and documentation of medicines as per applicable rules and hospital procedures.
Key Responsibilities
- Dispense medicines accurately against valid prescriptions.
- Verify prescriptions, dosage, quantity, drug interactions, and potential medication-related concerns.
- Guide patients regarding proper dosage, method of administration, storage, and precautions.
- Maintain accurate records of medicines issued, received, returned, and expired.
- Manage pharmacy inventory and ensure proper stock availability.
- Monitor expiry dates and follow FEFO (First Expiry, First Out) practices.
- Ensure proper storage and handling of medicines as per requirements.
- Coordinate with doctors, nurses, purchase team, and hospital administration regarding medicine requirements.
- Prepare purchase/requisition requirements based on stock levels and consumption.
- Maintain records, registers, bills, invoices, and other pharmacy documentation.
- Identify damaged, expired, or near-expiry medicines and take appropriate action.
- Ensure pharmacy operations comply with applicable laws, regulations, and hospital SOPs.
- Maintain cleanliness, organization, and discipline within the pharmacy.
- Handle pharmacy software/ERP and update medicine-related data accurately.
- Support audits and provide required pharmacy reports to management.
- Supervise pharmacy assistants/technicians, where applicable.
Qualification
- D.Pharm / B.Pharm from a recognized institution.
- Valid registration with the applicable State Pharmacy Council.
- Basic knowledge of pharmacy operations, medicine handling, and inventory management.
Experience
- 1–3 years of relevant experience preferred.
- Freshers with the required qualification and registration may also be considered.
Required Skills
- Good knowledge of medicines and prescriptions.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Inventory and stock management skills.
- Basic computer/ERP knowledge.
- Good communication and patient-handling skills.
- Ability to work effectively with doctors and hospital staff.
- Responsible, disciplined, and ethical approach to work.
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
- Accuracy of medicine dispensing.
- Inventory accuracy and stock availability.
- Timely identification of expired/near-expiry medicines.
- Proper maintenance of pharmacy records.
- Compliance with hospital SOPs and applicable regulations.
- Reduction in stock discrepancies and wastage.
Pay: ₹15,000.00 - ₹18,000.00 per month
