About the Role
Placebo Gears & Transmission (PGT) is a part of Placebo Group. PGT is a precision engineering company specializing in custom-built gears, gearboxes, and transmission components. We are building a dedicated business development function to drive gear servicing and new gearbox sales across Cement, Mining, Power, Sugar, Ports, and related heavy industries in AP and Telangana.
This is a leadership hire. You will own the revenue pipeline end-to-end — from plant visits and requirement identification to proposal submission, order closure, and post-delivery relationship management. You will work directly with the CEO and be the face of Placebo Gears to the industry.
Key Responsibilities
Market Development & Client Acquisition
- Identify and map target accounts across Cement, Mining, Power, Sugar, and Port sector plants in AP & Telangana.
- Conduct regular plant visits to understand maintenance cycles, gearbox applications, and servicing needs.
- Build and nurture relationships with plant heads, maintenance engineers, and procurement teams.
- Position Placebo Gears as the preferred partner for gear servicing and new gearbox supply.
Technical Sales & Proposal Management
- Translate customer requirements into accurate technical briefs for the engineering team.
- Prepare and present competitive commercial proposals; negotiate pricing and terms to closure.
- Track enquiries through the full sales funnel — from first contact to order, delivery, and payment.
Execution & After-Sales
- Coordinate with operations, production, and logistics to ensure on-time delivery per committed timelines.
- Manage escalations, warranty issues, and servicing follow-ups to ensure client satisfaction.
- Drive payment realization in line with agreed terms.
Reporting & Market Intelligence
- Maintain updated records of client interactions, quotations, and pipeline status.
- Submit weekly MIS covering leads, conversions, revenue, and outstanding payments.
- Share competitive intelligence and customer feedback to inform product and pricing decisions.
Qualifications
- Education: B.E. / B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering (mandatory). MBA in Marketing will be an added advantage.
- Experience: 6–8 years of experience in Industrial B2B Sales, Technical Sales, or Business Development within engineering or manufacturing industries.
- Industry Exposure: Experience in selling Industrial Gearboxes, Gears, Mechanical Power Transmission Equipment, Industrial Spares, Rotating Equipment, Material Handling Equipment, Heavy Engineering Products, or Industrial Maintenance Services.
- Language: Fluency in Telugu, English, and Hindi is required.
Skills & CompetenciesTechnical
- Sound understanding of industrial gearboxes, gears, couplings, and power transmission systems.
- Ability to understand customer applications, maintenance requirements, and technical specifications.
- Familiarity with industrial plant operations and maintenance practices.
Commercial
- Strong customer relationship management, negotiation, and business development skills.
- Proven ability to manage the complete sales cycle from lead generation to order closure.
- Experience in preparing and presenting techno-commercial proposals independently.
Operational
- Proficiency in MS Excel, PowerPoint, and CRM tools for sales tracking and reporting.
- Strong communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills.
- Willingness to travel extensively across Andhra Pradesh and Telangana.

Pay: ₹1,200,000.00 - ₹1,500,000.00 per year
