Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced and driven Regional Head - Business Development to lead and grow our ash disposal logistics vertical. The ideal candidate will have deep experience in participating in ash disposal tenders, managing ash trading and logistics, and coordinating with thermal power plants for fly ash and bottom ash disposal. The role involves both strategic business development and operational coordination to ensure efficient handling and transportation of ash from power plants to end-users.
Key Responsibilities:
Business Development & Client Acquisition:
- Identify and develop new business opportunities in ash disposal, trading, and logistics with government and private sector power plants.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with ash management teams at thermal power plants.
- Develop a robust database of ash generators (power plants) and ash consumers (cement plants, brick manufacturers, construction companies, etc.).
- Generate leads for long-term ash evacuation contracts, especially from NTPC, State Power plants, and private thermal plants.
Tendering & Proposal Management:
- Participate in ash disposal and transportation tenders, including EOI, RFP, RFQ, and techno-commercial bid submissions.
- Prepare commercial proposals, cost estimations, and feasibility reports based on logistics models.
- Collaborate with the legal, technical, and operations teams to ensure timely and compliant bid submissions.
Logistics & Operational Coordination:
- Plan and coordinate ash evacuation logistics including road and rail transportation, unloading, and storage.
- Liaise with logistics partners, transporters, and bulk material handlers to ensure efficient ash movement.
- Address on-ground issues at power plants and customer sites to ensure smooth execution of contracts.
Market Intelligence & Strategy:
- Monitor market trends in ash utilization, pricing, policy changes (MOEF, CPCB, CEA guidelines), and sustainability targets.
- Provide regular updates to management on business pipeline, competitor activity, and operational challenges.
- Identify innovative solutions and partnerships to enhance the company's ash management capabilities.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Education: Any graduate
- Experience: 15 years in ash disposal logistics, trading, tendering, or power plant waste management.
- Proven track record in winning and executing ash disposal projects with public or private power utilities.
- Strong network within thermal power plants in Tamil Nadu and neighboring states.
- Working knowledge of environmental regulations and ash utilization policies.
- Excellent negotiation, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
- Proficiency in MS Office (especially Excel and PowerPoint), and familiarity with e-tendering portals.
Preferred Background:
- Experience working with cement, construction, or logistics companies involved in fly ash consumption or movement.
- Hands-on exposure to government and PSU tendering procedures (e.g., TANGEDCO, NTPC, SEBs).
- Familiarity with thermal power plant operations and ash handling systems.
