Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Electrical Engineer with a minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience in the power generation sector. The ideal candidate will be a subject matter expert in Diesel Generators (DG sets), specializing in the installation, servicing, and complex troubleshooting of generator machines. You will be responsible for the "heart and brain" of our power systems, including synchronizing panels, ECU governance, and sensor calibration.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintenance & Service: Lead the preventive and corrective maintenance of high-capacity diesel generators and rotating machines.
- System Integration: Design, configure, and commission Synchronizing Panels for multi-generator load sharing and AMF (Auto Mains Failure) operations.
- Technical Troubleshooting: Diagnose complex electrical faults in ECUs (Engine Control Units), governors, and electronic actuators.
- Sensor Management: Calibrate and troubleshoot a wide array of engine sensors (magnetic pickups, oil pressure, coolant temp, etc.) to ensure optimal performance and safety shutdowns.
- Governance: Manage engine speed control systems and electronic governing to ensure stable frequency outputs under varying loads.
- On-site Leadership: Supervise junior technicians during major overhauls and site installations, ensuring compliance with safety standards.
Technical Skills & Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
- Experience: 5+ years of direct experience with major brands (e.g., Cummins, Perkins, Caterpillar, Kohler).
- Panel Logic: Deep understanding of controllers like Deep Sea Electronics (DSE), ComAp, or Woodward for synchronizing and load management.
- Diagnostic Tools: Proficiency in using electronic service tools (ET) and multimeters to interface with ECUs and sensors.
Candidate Requirements
- Expertise in reading and interpreting complex Electrical Schematics and P&IDs.
- Proven ability to troubleshoot under pressure in "power-down" situations.
- Strong knowledge of AVR (Automatic Voltage Regulator) adjustment and excitation systems.
- Excellent communication skills for client-facing technical support.
