Job responsibilities of Assistant Project Manager ( Design Coordination)
Design Management

Coordinate with architects, MEP consultants, structural consultants, and specialist designers.

Review design drawings, specifications, and BOQs for completeness and constructability.

Monitor design deliverables against the approved design schedule.

Ensure compliance with client requirements, local codes, statutory regulations, and industry standards.
2. Project Coordination

Organize and lead design coordination meetings.

Track design actions and ensure timely closure.

Interface between client, consultants, contractors, and stakeholders.

Facilitate resolution of design-related issues during design and construction stages.
3. Design Review & Quality Control
-
Review drawings for clashes and coordination issues.

Support value engineering exercises to optimize cost and functionality.

Verify design compliance with project standards and specifications.

Ensure incorporation of client comments and approvals.
4. Cost & Schedule Management
-
Assist in preparing design schedules and monitoring progress.

Identify design delays and recommend corrective actions.

Coordinate with QS/Cost Management teams for budget alignment.

Review design changes and assess impact on cost and timeline.
5. Documentation & Reporting

Maintain design registers and document control systems.

Track RFIs, design changes, and approvals.

Prepare weekly and monthly design progress reports.

Ensure proper record keeping of design submissions and approvals.
6. Construction Support

Review shop drawings and material submittals.

Assist site teams in resolving design queries.

Coordinate consultant responses to RFIs.

Participate in site inspections and design compliance reviews.
