Position Summary
We are looking for enthusiastic and hardworking Junior Agronomists with a strong interest in horticulture and practical field operations. The ideal candidate should have good knowledge of crop production, plant nutrition, irrigation, pest and disease management, and basic field diagnostics.
The role involves regular field visits, supporting farm operations, monitoring crop health, implementing agronomic recommendations, and working closely with senior agronomists, farmers, and field teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor crop growth and field performance from planting to harvest.
- Assist in implementing fertigation, irrigation, nutrition, and crop protection schedules.
- Identify basic nutrient deficiencies, pests, diseases, and physiological disorders.
- Conduct regular field visits and record crop observations.
- Support senior agronomists in developing practical crop management recommendations.
- Monitor drip irrigation systems, soil conditions, and overall crop health.
- Ensure proper implementation of recommended agronomic practices across farms.
- Maintain accurate farm and crop records.
- Prepare field observation reports and follow up on recommendations.
- Assist in fertilizer, pesticide, and other agricultural input management.
- Coordinate with farmers and field staff for day-to-day crop management activities.
- Participate in training programs and technical demonstrations.
- Learn and implement modern horticultural production practices and technologies.
Qualifications
- B.Sc. Agriculture (Mandatory)
- M.Sc. in Agronomy, Horticulture, Soil Science, Plant Pathology, or a related discipline will be an advantage.
- 0–3 years of relevant field experience in horticulture/agriculture.
- Freshers with strong practical knowledge and willingness to work in the field may also apply.
Required Skills
- Basic understanding of horticultural crop production.
- Good knowledge of plant nutrition and soil fertility.
- Basic understanding of fertigation and drip irrigation systems.
- Knowledge of common pests, diseases, and integrated pest and disease management.
- Good observation and field diagnostic skills.
- Ability to follow and implement crop nutrition and irrigation schedules.
- Ability to travel to different farm locations.
- Positive attitude, discipline, and strong work ethic.
