- Echocardiogram (ECHO): Prepare patients and operate ultrasound machines to capture detailed, high-quality images of heart valves, chambers, and blood flow using Doppler and M-mode. [1]
- Treadmill Test (TMT): Prepare patients for stress tests, attach ECG electrodes, monitor blood pressure and heart rhythms, and observe symptoms during physical exertion. [1]
- Patient Care: Explain procedures, obtain consent, and ensure patient safety and comfort throughout the diagnostic process. [1]
- Equipment Maintenance: Calibrate and sterilize medical equipment, troubleshoot technical issues, and coordinate with biomedical engineers. [1, 2]
- Documentation: Record patient history, maintain registers, and upload technical data or preliminary reports for review. [1, 2]
Essential Qualifications & Skills
- Education: Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Cardiac Technology, Medical Imaging Technology, or a related allied health field.
- Certifications: Valid Basic Life Support (BLS) and/or Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certifications.
- Knowledge: Deep understanding of cardiovascular anatomy, physiology, and emergency protocols (e.g., managing sudden arrhythmias).
