Urja Trust is a grassroots organization working towards gender justice, rehabilitation, andempowerment of marginalized women and young survivors of violence. Our work focuses oncreating safe, inclusive, and survivor-centered spaces through community support, advocacy,shelter, and rehabilitation programs.
Role Summary
The HR Manager will be responsible for leading and strengthening the organisation’s human resources function. This includes developing and implementing HR policies, managing recruitment and onboarding, supporting employee relations, and ensuring a fair, transparent, and compliant HR system across the organisation.
Key Responsibilities
● Develop, implement, and review HR policies and procedures
● Lead recruitment, selection, and onboarding processes
● Manage employee lifecycle processes including induction, confirmation, and exit
● Support development of a clear and fair salary structure and compensation system
● Handle employee relations, grievances, and conflict resolution with sensitivity and
confidentiality
● Ensure compliance with labour laws and organisational policies
● Support performance management systems and appraisal processes
● Strengthen organisational culture, inclusion, and employee engagement
● Coordinate with leadership for workforce planning and HR strategy
● Maintain accurate HR documentation and records
Required Qualifications & Experience
● Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or
related field
● 5–10 years of experience in HR roles, preferably in the development/NGO sector
● Strong understanding of HR policies, labour laws, and compensation structures
● Experience in recruitment, performance management, and employee relations
● Strong interpersonal, communication, and conflict resolution skills
● Ability to work with sensitivity in diverse and inclusive work environments
● Fluency in English, Hindi, and Marathi is preferred

Salary will be based on experience, skills and organisational salary structure.
