Key Responsibilities
- Manage end-to-end manufacturing, assembly, and testing activities of gearboxes.
- Supervise assembly technicians and shop-floor personnel to ensure smooth production operations.
- Ensure adherence to production plans, quality standards, and delivery commitments.
- Conduct gearbox assembly inspections and performance testing as per specifications.
- Analyze assembly and testing issues and implement corrective and preventive actions.
- Monitor productivity, cycle time, and resource utilization to improve operational efficiency.
- Ensure proper use of measuring instruments, testing equipment, and assembly tools.
- Coordinate with Quality, Design, Purchase, and Stores departments for smooth workflow.
- Maintain production records, testing reports, and daily progress reports.
- Implement Lean Manufacturing, 5S, Kaizen, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Ensure compliance with safety standards and company policies.
- Train and guide operators on assembly procedures, quality requirements, and best practices.
Required Skills & Competencies
- Strong knowledge of gearbox assembly, troubleshooting, and testing procedures.
- Understanding of gears, shafts, bearings, seals, couplings, and transmission systems.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, BOMs, and assembly instructions.
- Knowledge of manufacturing processes, quality control, and inspection techniques.
- Familiarity with hydraulic, pneumatic, and mechanical systems.
- Good problem-solving, team management, and communication skills.
Desired Candidate Profile
- Diploma in Mechanical Engineering.
- 8–10 years of hands-on experience in manufacturing, assembly, and testing of industrial gearboxes.
- Experience in handling production teams and achieving production targets.
- Exposure to ISO standards, quality systems, and continuous improvement practices.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet customer delivery schedules.
Preferred Industry: Gear Box Manufacturing, Power Transmission Equipment, Industrial Machinery, Heavy Engineering, Automotive Components, and Mechanical Equipment Manufacturing.
