Role Summary
As a Senior NOC Analyst (Windows Server & VMWare), you are responsible for the day-to-day operations, monitoring, and maintenance of our customers' IT infrastructure in a 24x7 environment. You will own Incident resolution within SLA, drive root cause analysis through Problem & Change Management, act as an escalation point for L1 support, and ensure that customer environments remain healthy and available.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor servers, network devices, and storage volumes, and respond to alerts within defined SLAs.
- Troubleshoot Microsoft Windows Server roles and features, diagnosing issues using Service Management Console, Windows Event Viewer, WMI, and Performance Monitor.
- Perform OS patching, disk and performance management, and daily health checks to ensure customer environments function correctly.
- Manage remote access, storage volumes, and network device availability.
- Investigate and resolve incidents raised through monitoring and ticketing tools in line with the SLA matrix, driving root cause analysis through to resolution.
- Act as an escalation point for L1 engineers — guide, mentor, and assist them on technical issues.
- Provide detailed logs, observations, and documentation to L3 / engineering teams for escalated incidents and problems.
- Maintain accurate shift-handover reports, runbooks, and operational documentation.
- Coordinate with internal teams and vendors to restore service and minimise downtime.
- Identify recurring issues and contribute to process and automation improvements.
Required Skills & Experience
- 4+ years of total experience in IT infrastructure, NOC, or Windows Server operations, with hands-on L2-level troubleshooting.
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Windows Server roles and features.
- Proficiency with Windows Event Viewer, Service Management Console, WMI, and Performance Monitor.
- Experience working to SLAs within an ITIL-aligned incident, problem, and change management framework.
- Hands-on experience with monitoring and ticketing tools such as SolarWinds, SCOM, PRTG, Nagios, Zabbix, or ServiceNow (edit to match your actual stack).
- Excellent written and verbal English communication skills, as the role involves direct interaction with international clients.
- Willingness and ability to work in rotational 24x7 shifts, including nights and weekends.
Preferred / Good to Have
- Excellent Communication Skills (Written & Verbal)
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Azure, VMware, and Citrix.
- Basic networking knowledge (TCP/IP, network device monitoring).
- Prior experience mentoring or leading junior (L1) engineers.
Education & Certifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, or a related field — or equivalent practical experience.
- Microsoft Server certification required (e.g., AZ-800 / AZ-801, or equivalent), or equivalent demonstrable experience.
- VMware certification (e.g., VCP / VCTA) preferred.
Pay: Up to ₹750,000.00 per year
