Role Overview
We are looking for skilled and motivated Field Service Engineers to support installation, maintenance, calibration, and troubleshooting of analytical and laboratory instruments used in life sciences, pharmaceutical, biotech, and research laboratories.
The role requires strong technical expertise in instruments such as HPLC, GC-MS, LC-MS, UV-Vis, and other lab equipment, along with hands-on field servicing experience.
Key Responsibilities1. Installation & Commissioning
- Installation, qualification, and commissioning of analytical instruments at customer sites
- Conduct IQ/OQ/PQ (Installation/Operational/Performance Qualification)
2. Maintenance & Calibration
- Preventive and corrective maintenance of instruments
- Calibration and validation as per GLP/GMP standards
- Ensure uptime and performance optimization
3. Troubleshooting & Support
- Diagnose and resolve hardware/software issues in instruments
- Provide on-site and remote technical support
- Ensure minimal downtime and adherence to SLAs
4. Customer Interaction
- Provide technical training to lab users
- Maintain strong customer relationships
- Ensure high customer satisfaction and service quality
5. Documentation & Compliance
- Maintain service reports, calibration records, and logs
- Ensure compliance with SOPs, regulatory standards, and audit requirements
- Support audit readiness (internal/external)
6. Spare Parts & Inventory
- Manage service tools, spares, and consumables
- Coordinate with internal teams for parts availability
Required Skills & CompetenciesTechnical Skills
- Hands-on experience with:
- HPLC, GC-MS, LC-MS, UV-Vis Spectrophotometer
- Chromatography techniques and method execution
- Understanding of:
- Calibration curves, system suitability testing
- Analytical method validation
- Knowledge of:
- GLP / GMP compliance
- Laboratory safety and documentation
Soft Skills
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
- Good communication and customer handling ability
- Ability to work independently in field environments
- Time management and reporting discipline
Educational Qualifications
- B.Sc. / M.Sc. in Chemistry / Biotechnology / Life Sciences
- OR Diploma / B.Tech in Instrumentation / Electronics / Biomedical Engineering
Experience Required
6 months to 2 years of experience in:
- Analytical lab instruments OR
- Field service of laboratory equipment
Freshers with strong hands-on training (HPLC/GC-MS) may be considered.
Preferred Background
Candidates with experience similar to:
- QC Chemist / Lab Analyst transitioning into field roles
- Hands-on exposure to instruments like HPLC, GC-MS, LC-MS
- Experience in GLP/GMP labs
