Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate, patient, and qualified Special Educator to support students with diverse learning and developmental needs. The candidate will provide individualized educational support, adapt teaching strategies, monitor student progress, and work collaboratively with teachers and parents to promote inclusive education and the overall development of every student.
Key Responsibilities
- Assess students’ individual learning needs and developmental requirements.
- Develop and implement Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) where applicable.
- Provide one-to-one and small-group instruction based on students’ specific needs.
- Adapt lesson plans, teaching methods, worksheets, and learning materials.
- Support students with learning disabilities, developmental delays, and other special educational needs.
- Monitor and document students’ academic, behavioral, social, and developmental progress.
- Work closely with class teachers to implement inclusive teaching strategies.
- Provide remedial and additional support to students who require assistance.
- Develop students’ communication, social, emotional, academic, and life skills.
- Maintain accurate records of assessments, interventions, progress, and student support plans.
- Communicate regularly with parents/guardians regarding student progress and development.
- Collaborate with counselors, therapists, teachers, coordinators, and school management when required.
- Promote a safe, respectful, inclusive, and supportive learning environment.
- Participate in parent meetings, staff meetings, training programs, workshops, and school activities.
- Maintain confidentiality of student information and educational records.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s/Master’s Degree in Special Education / Education / Psychology or a relevant field.
- B.Ed. Special Education / D.Ed. Special Education or equivalent recognized qualification preferred/required as applicable.
- Relevant professional certification/registration as required by applicable regulations.
- Knowledge of inclusive education, differentiated instruction, behavioral support, and student assessment.
- Previous experience working with children with special educational needs is preferred.
