A Security Officer is responsible for maintaining a safe and secure environment for employees, visitors, and property. This role involves monitoring premises, preventing unauthorized access, responding to incidents, and enforcing security procedures.
Key Responsibilities
- Patrol assigned areas regularly to ensure safety and security
- Monitor surveillance systems (CCTV, alarms, access control systems)
- Control access at entrances and verify identification of employees and visitors
- Respond promptly to emergencies, alarms, and incidents
- Write detailed incident and daily activity reports
- Enforce company policies, rules, and regulations
- Conduct security checks on buildings, equipment, and vehicles
- Assist in crowd control and evacuation during emergencies
- Coordinate with law enforcement and emergency services when required
Required Skills & Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (minimum requirement)
- Proven experience in security or a related field preferred
- Knowledge of security procedures and emergency response
- Strong observation and attention-to-detail skills
- Good communication and interpersonal abilities
- Ability to remain calm under pressure
- Basic computer skills (for reports and monitoring systems)
- Physical fitness and ability to stand/walk for extended periods
