Job Summary
We are looking for an experienced and technically strong Senior MEP Engineer to oversee the planning, design coordination, execution, and supervision of MEP systems across our projects. The candidate will be responsible for ensuring that MEP works are executed as per approved drawings, specifications, quality standards, safety requirements, and project timelines.
Key Roles & ResponsibilitiesMEP Design & Planning
- Review and coordinate MEP design drawings, specifications, and technical documents.
- Coordinate HVAC, electrical, plumbing, firefighting, and other MEP services.
- Review design proposals and identify technical conflicts or design gaps.
- Ensure MEP designs are practical, cost-effective, and suitable for project execution.
- Coordinate MEP requirements with architectural and structural teams.
Project Execution & Site Supervision
- Supervise and monitor MEP installation and execution at project sites.
- Ensure works are carried out according to approved drawings, specifications, and project schedules.
- Conduct regular site inspections and monitor progress.
- Identify technical issues and coordinate with contractors for timely resolution.
- Ensure proper installation, testing, commissioning, and handover of MEP systems.
Coordination & Contractor Management
- Coordinate with MEP consultants, contractors, subcontractors, architects, structural engineers, and project teams.
- Review contractor shop drawings, material submittals, method statements, and technical submissions.
- Monitor contractor performance and ensure adherence to project requirements.
- Attend coordination meetings and provide technical inputs.
- Resolve clashes between MEP services and architectural/structural elements.
Quality & Compliance
- Ensure MEP works comply with approved drawings, specifications, applicable codes, and standards.
- Conduct inspections and ensure quality of materials and workmanship.
- Review and approve inspection requests and technical submissions as per company/project procedures.
- Ensure proper testing and commissioning of all MEP systems.
- Maintain required project documentation and records.
Cost & Schedule Management
- Monitor MEP work progress against project schedules.
- Assist in preparing and reviewing BOQs, quantity estimates, and material requirements.
- Monitor material usage and minimize wastage.
- Support the Project Manager in controlling MEP-related costs.
- Identify potential delays and take corrective action in coordination with the project team.
Documentation & Reporting
- Review as-built drawings and ensure they reflect actual site conditions.
- Maintain MEP inspection reports, test reports, approvals, and technical documentation.
- Prepare regular progress reports for management.
- Maintain records of drawings, revisions, RFIs, material approvals, and site instructions.
Required Technical Skills
- Strong knowledge of HVAC, Electrical, Plumbing, Fire Fighting, and other MEP services.
- Good understanding of MEP design, installation, testing, and commissioning.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD; knowledge of Revit/BIM is an advantage.
- Ability to read and interpret architectural, structural, and MEP drawings.
- Knowledge of relevant building codes, standards, and safety requirements.
- Strong knowledge of construction methods and MEP coordination.
- Good knowledge of project planning and execution.
Educational Qualification
- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical / Electrical Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
- Relevant professional certifications will be an advantage.
Experience
- 5–10 years of relevant experience in MEP design, coordination, and site execution.
- Experience in residential, commercial, high-rise, or real estate projects is preferred.
- Candidates with strong experience in managing MEP contractors and consultants will be preferred.
