The Senior Manager – Legal & Documentation will lead and oversee all legal, due diligence, and documentation activities related to land acquisition and real estate investments.
We are specifically looking for candidates with a strong background in Non-Litigation and In-House legal roles.
This role requires strong domain expertise, independent decision-making capability, and the ability to manage complex transactions while ensuring full regulatory compliance.
- Lead comprehensive legal due diligence for land acquisition, including title verification, encumbrance checks, land use, and regulatory approvals.
- Ensure compliance with applicable land laws, local regulations, and statutory requirements.
- Identify legal risks and provide strategic recommendations for mitigation.
- Structure and review key transaction documents such as Sale Deeds, Joint Development Agreements (JDAs), MOUs, and Power of Attorney.
- Oversee end-to-end documentation lifecycle, from drafting to execution and registration.
- Ensure accuracy, completeness, and legal enforceability of all documents.
- Act as the primary point of contact for legal consultants, landowners, brokers, and government authorities.
- Handle negotiations and resolve legal/documentation challenges efficiently.
- Ensure smooth coordination for approvals, registrations, and clearances.
- Provide legal insights and advisory support to senior leadership on land investments and deal structuring.
- Prepare detailed due diligence reports, risk assessments, and investment notes.
- Track regulatory changes and assess their impact on ongoing and future projects.
- Lead, mentor, and supervise the legal/documentation team.
- Establish SOPs, streamline workflows, and ensure process efficiency.
- Maintain high standards of compliance, documentation control, and audit readiness.
- LLB (mandatory); LLM is an added advantage.
- Experience in Non-Litigation and In-House legal roles, preferably in real estate, land acquisition, or property documentation.
- Strong knowledge of land laws, registration processes, and local regulatory frameworks.
- Proven experience in handling end-to-end land transactions independently.
- Strong negotiation, analytical, and stakeholder management skills.
