About the Role
We are seeking a skilled and innovative Machine Designer (SPM) to join our automation team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing and developing Special Purpose Machines (SPMs), automation systems, fixtures, and customized engineering solutions based on customer requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop Special Purpose Machines (SPMs), assembly stations, testing machines, and automation equipment.
- Create 3D models, assembly drawings, manufacturing drawings, and BOMs using CAD software.
- Develop machine concepts based on customer requirements and technical specifications.
- Perform mechanical design calculations and component selection.
- Coordinate with Electrical, PLC, Production, and Procurement teams during project execution.
- Ensure designs comply with safety, quality, and manufacturing standards..
- Participate in design reviews and implement design improvements.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Diploma/B.Tech/B.E. in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
- Experience in SPM design, industrial automation, machine building, or fixture design.
- Proficiency in CAD software such as SolidWorks, AutoCAD, Creo, CATIA, or Inventor.
- Strong knowledge of mechanical design principles, pneumatics, linear motion systems, and machine elements.
- Ability to prepare detailed manufacturing drawings and BOMs.
- Good problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
Preferred Skills
- Experience in assembly automation, welding automation, robotic systems, or material handling equipment.
- Knowledge of GD&T, DFMA, and machine safety standards.
- Exposure to customer interaction and project management.
