Job Summary
Responsible for developing innovative and cost-effective clothing and accessory designs aligned with the Deepa Gurnani brand aesthetic, while coordinating with artisans, karigars, karkhandars, sourcing and production teams for sample development and timely collection delivery.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop mood boards, concepts and new designs for clothing and accessories.
- Introduce innovative embroidery techniques and creative executions.
- Coordinate with artisans, karigars and karkhandars for sample development.
- Manage sample approvals, quality and design execution.
- Coordinate with sourcing and production teams for materials and specifications.
- Monitor design costing and ensure designs stay within budgets.
- Maintain records of designs, samples and approvals.
- Stay updated with fashion, embroidery and market trends.
- Source new fabrics, trims and materials from markets.
- Participate in client meetings and incorporate feedback when required.
Skills & Qualifications
- Strong understanding of embroidery and fashion design.
- Creative mindset with strong attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and coordination skills.
- Proactive, organized and deadline-oriented.
- Bachelor’s degree in Designing/Arts/Business Administration or Diploma in Fashion/Design preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office; basic ERP knowledge is an advantage.
Experience
Minimum 2 years in a similar design role. Experience in garments, jewelry, embroidery or fashion accessories preferred.
