About the Role
We are looking for an experienced Sr. Engineer / Assistant Manager – CAPEX & Forging Machine Spare Parts Procurement to manage the procurement of capital equipment, automation projects, forging machine spare parts, and plant machinery for automobile manufacturing operations. The role requires strong technical understanding, supplier management, commercial negotiation, and coordination with engineering, maintenance, production, and project teams to ensure timely and cost-effective procurement.
Key Responsibilities
Procure CAPEX items including production machinery, automation equipment, plant machinery, tools, dies, jigs, fixtures, and utility equipment.
Source and procure forging machine spare parts, maintenance spares, hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical, and mechanical components.
Coordinate with Engineering, Production, Maintenance, Projects, and Quality teams to understand technical specifications and procurement requirements.
Float RFQs/RFPs, obtain quotations, prepare techno-commercial comparison statements, and recommend suitable suppliers.
Negotiate pricing, payment terms, delivery schedules, warranty, and annual rate contracts (ARCs) with suppliers.
Issue Purchase Orders and monitor supplier performance for on-time delivery and quality compliance.
Coordinate installation, commissioning, and acceptance of new machinery and equipment.
Develop and maintain relationships with OEMs, machine manufacturers, and spare parts suppliers.
Ensure compliance with company procurement policies, approval matrix, and budgetary controls.
Maintain procurement records, vendor database, contracts, and documentation in ERP systems (SAP/Oracle/Tally or equivalent).
Support import procurement activities, including vendor coordination, logistics, shipping, customs clearance, and documentation when required.
Track CAPEX budgets, procurement milestones, and project status; provide regular reports to management.
Identify opportunities for cost reduction, vendor development, and process improvement.
Ensure timely availability of critical machine spares to minimize production downtime.
Required Qualifications
Education: B.E./B.Tech or Diploma in Mechanical, Production, Automobile, Industrial Engineering, or related discipline.
Experience: 6–10 years in CAPEX procurement and forging machine spare parts procurement within the automobile, auto component, forging, or manufacturing industry.
Required Skills
Strong knowledge of industrial machinery, forging equipment, automation systems, and machine spare parts.
Understanding of technical drawings, specifications, and BOMs.
Experience in techno-commercial evaluation and supplier negotiations.
Knowledge of procurement processes, vendor development, and contract management.
Familiarity with ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, or equivalent.
Understanding of import procurement procedures and logistics.
Strong analytical, negotiation, and communication skills.
Proficiency in MS Excel, PowerPoint, and procurement reporting.

Salary
CTC: ₹6.0 – ₹6.5 LPA (Negotiable based on experience and current compensation).
