Job Summary: We are seeking a dedicated Occupational Therapist to support students with developmental, physical, sensory, or cognitive challenges in building the skills needed for daily functioning, learning, and independence. The candidate will work closely with students, teachers, and parents to enhance students' motor, sensory, and self-care abilities within the school environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct assessments to identify students' fine motor, gross motor, sensory processing, and daily living skill needs
- Design and implement individualized therapy plans and goals
- Provide one-on-one and group therapy sessions to improve coordination, handwriting, sensory integration, and self-help skills
- Recommend and train staff/students on the use of adaptive equipment and assistive technology
- Collaborate with special educators, behavior therapists, speech therapists, and parents for a coordinated approach
- Modify classroom activities and environments to support students' sensory and motor needs
- Maintain therapy records, track progress, and prepare periodic reports
- Participate in IEP (Individualized Education Plan) meetings and provide therapy-related input
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's/Master's degree in Occupational Therapy (BOT/MOT)
- Valid license/registration to practice as an Occupational Therapist
- Experience working with children with special needs (autism, cerebral palsy, developmental delays, sensory processing disorders, etc.) preferred
- Strong understanding of sensory integration techniques and adaptive equipment
- Good communication, patience, and interpersonal skills
