We are seeking a highly accomplished and experienced Principal Consultant – Unified Operations Center (UOC) to lead the architecture, strategy, and delivery of enterprise-scale Industrial Automation and Digital Transformation solutions using the AVEVA portfolio. This role will serve as the technical authority for defining solution architectures, driving technology strategy, and delivering business-critical industrial solutions for global customers.
The ideal candidate will possess deep expertise in AVEVA System Platform, Unified Operations Center (UOC), industrial system architectures, SCADA/HMI solutions, enterprise integration, cloud-enabled industrial platforms, and OT-IT convergence. The Principal Consultant will be responsible for defining enterprise solution blueprints, establishing architecture and engineering standards, leading technical governance, and ensuring the successful delivery of scalable, secure, resilient, and high-availability solutions across complex industrial environments.
As a trusted advisor to customers and executive stakeholders, the Principal Consultant will collaborate with business leaders, enterprise architects, project managers, and multidisciplinary engineering teams to shape digital transformation initiatives across industries including Oil & Gas, Chemicals, Manufacturing, Mining, Utilities, Water, and Power. The role also includes driving pre-sales and solution consulting activities, mentoring senior consultants and engineering teams, establishing technical best practices and reusable frameworks, and influencing the organization's technology roadmap while ensuring successful project execution and long-term customer success.

Solution Design & Architecture

Lead the architecture, design, and technical governance of enterprise-scale Unified Operations Center (UOC) and Industrial Automation solutions using the AVEVA portfolio.

Define enterprise solution blueprints, reference architectures, and technology roadmaps aligned with customer business objectives and digital transformation strategies.

Own the preparation, review, and approval of High-Level Design (HLD), Low-Level Design (LLD), Solution Design Documents (SDD), and architecture standards.

Design and review High Availability (HA), Disaster Recovery (DR), redundancy, failover, backup, and business continuity strategies for mission-critical industrial applications.

Lead infrastructure sizing, capacity planning, scalability assessments, and performance optimization for enterprise and multi-site deployments.

Define enterprise system architectures encompassing network topology, virtualization, cloud/hybrid deployments, cybersecurity, identity management, and OT-IT integration.

Provide technical leadership in solution reviews, architecture governance, risk assessments, and design assurance to ensure compliance with customer standards, AVEVA best practices, and industry regulations.

Evaluate emerging technologies and recommend architecture improvements to enhance system scalability, reliability, maintainability, and operational efficiency.

Collaborate with customer stakeholders, enterprise architects, and multidisciplinary engineering teams to develop innovative, future-ready solutions that meet both business and operational objectives.

Serve as the technical authority for complex solution design decisions, architecture escalations, and strategic technology direction across multiple projects and customer engagements.
Essential Requirements

Technical
-
12–18 years of experience in Industrial Automation, SCADA, and Digital Transformation, with extensive hands-on experience delivering enterprise-scale solutions using the AVEVA portfolio.

Recognized subject matter expert in the AVEVA product suite, including System Platform, Operations Control (UOC), OMI, Historian, Communication Drivers, Reports, Application Server, License Manager, and Identity Manager.
-
Extensive experience in defining enterprise architecture, solution blueprints, and deployment strategies for large-scale AVEVA System Platform implementations.
-
Proven experience leading Unified Operations Center (UOC) / AVEVA Operations Control programs across multiple sites, business units, or geographically distributed facilities.
-
Strong expertise in designing highly available, scalable, secure, and resilient industrial automation architectures, including redundancy, disaster recovery (DR), and failover strategies.
-
Extensive experience in AVEVA System Platform object modeling, template development, standardization, governance, and reusable engineering frameworks.
-
Strong knowledge of AVEVA System Platform scripting, .NET Framework integration, I/O mapping, and device integration.
-
Hands-on experience developing high-performance HMI applications, dashboards, and visualizations using AVEVA OMI, ArchestrA Graphics, and InTouch.
-
Strong understanding of industrial communication protocols, including OPC DA, OPC UA, MQTT, and enterprise integration patterns.

Extensive experience integrating AVEVA System Platform with enterprise applications such as SAP, MES, ERP systems, SQL Server, REST APIs, and other business applications.

Strong knowledge of relational database design, SQL Server, data integration, and industrial data management.

Experience with SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS) and enterprise reporting solutions is desirable.

Proven experience in solution sizing, infrastructure planning, system capacity assessment, and performance optimization for enterprise deployments.

Strong understanding of distributed system architecture, client/server optimization, load balancing, virtualization, redundancy, and high-availability deployments.

Experience with cloud-enabled industrial solutions, including AVEVA CONNECT, Microsoft Azure, hybrid architectures, and OT-IT convergence is highly desirable.

Proven experience leading technical governance, architecture reviews, design approvals, and engineering quality assurance across multiple projects.

Strong experience in defining and executing Factory Acceptance Test (FAT), Site Acceptance Test (SAT), commissioning, and production rollout strategies.

Demonstrated ability to lead end-to-end project delivery, from requirements gathering and solution architecture through development, testing, commissioning, production deployment, and customer handover.

Experience contributing to pre-sales activities, including solution proposals, effort estimation, technical presentations, proof-of-concepts (PoCs), and customer demonstrations.

Working knowledge of industrial cybersecurity principles, secure system design, identity management, and network architecture is highly desirable.

Experience mentoring senior engineers and consultants, establishing engineering standards, reusable frameworks, and technical best practices across the organization.
