ACETECH is an engineering and fabrication company involved in laser cutting, pipe laser cutting, sheet metal fabrication, bending, rolling, welding, and heavy/light fabrication for industrial customers.
We are looking for a responsible and technically strong Quality Engineer / Quality Control Engineer to take ownership of quality inspection and ensure that finished products meet customer drawings, specifications, and required quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Inspect raw materials, fabricated components, welded assemblies, and finished products.
- Verify components against customer drawings, dimensions, tolerances, and specifications.
- Perform dimensional inspection using measuring instruments such as:
- Vernier caliper
- Micrometer
- Height gauge
- Measuring tape
- Angle gauge
- Welding gauges
- Other inspection instruments
- Conduct in-process inspection during fabrication, fit-up, bending, rolling, and welding.
- Inspect welding quality, weld size, weld appearance, distortion, undercut, porosity, cracks, and other visible defects.
- Check fit-up, alignment, squareness, dimensions, hole positions, and assembly accuracy.
- Coordinate with production and fabrication teams to identify and correct quality issues.
- Prepare and maintain Inspection Reports, QC Reports, NCR Reports, Check Sheets, and Final Inspection Reports.
- Ensure proper identification and traceability of materials and fabricated components.
- Monitor quality at different stages:
- Incoming Material → Laser Cutting → Bending/Rolling → Fit-up → Welding → Inspection → Final QC → Dispatch
- Identify defective or non-conforming parts and ensure corrective action is taken.
- Coordinate with customer representatives during external inspection / customer QC inspection.
- Support preparation of documents required for customer inspection and dispatch.
- Maintain proper quality records and inspection documentation.
- Work closely with Production, Design, Welding, and Management teams to reduce rework and rejection.
- Ensure proper handling and storage of inspection instruments.
- Maintain a clean and organized quality inspection area.
- Support continuous improvement in fabrication quality and production processes.Required Skills
- Good knowledge of fabrication and welding inspection.
- Ability to read and understand engineering/fabrication drawings.
- Good knowledge of GD&T and dimensional tolerances is preferred.
- Knowledge of MIG/MAG welding and basic welding defects.
- Good knowledge of measuring instruments and dimensional inspection.
- Ability to identify fabrication, welding, cutting, bending, and assembly defects.
- Good documentation and reporting skills.
- Good communication and coordination skills.
- Ability to work independently and take responsibility for quality.
- Basic knowledge of Excel, Word, and quality documentation.
Preferred Qualifications
- Diploma / ITI / B.E. / B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
- 2–5 years of experience in fabrication, manufacturing, welding, or engineering quality control.
- Experience in heavy fabrication / industrial fabrication will be an advantage.
- Knowledge of welding inspection standards such as AWS / ASME / ISO will be an advantage.
- Experience handling customer inspections will be preferred.

Salary
₹20,000 – ₹30,000 per month, depending on experience, technical knowledge, and suitability for the role.
