About the Role
International Institute of Fashion Technology (IIFT), Bhopal is looking for a passionate and knowledgeable Textile Design Faculty to train and mentor students in textile design concepts, techniques, and industry practices. The ideal candidate should have strong subject knowledge, practical expertise, and the ability to create an engaging learning environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Teach Textile Design subjects through theory and practical sessions.
- Develop lesson plans, assignments, and course materials aligned with the curriculum.
- Guide students in textile surface development, fabric manipulation, dyeing, printing, weaving, and embellishment techniques.
- Demonstrate textile design processes and encourage hands-on learning.
- Mentor students in academic projects, portfolios, and exhibitions.
- Assess student performance through assignments, practical evaluations, and presentations.
- Stay updated with current textile trends, materials, techniques, and industry developments.
- Collaborate with the academic team for curriculum planning and student development activities.
- Maintain classroom discipline and ensure timely completion of course objectives.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Textile Design, Textile Technology, Fashion & Textile Design, or a related field.
- 1–5 years of teaching or industry experience is preferred.
- Freshers with strong academic knowledge and practical skills are also encouraged to apply.
Required Skills
- Strong understanding of textile materials, fabric construction, dyeing, printing, weaving, and surface ornamentation.
- Ability to demonstrate practical textile techniques.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Passion for teaching and mentoring students.
- Good organizational and classroom management skills.
- Knowledge of Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, or other textile design software is an added advantage.
