Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelors or Master’s degree in Commerce (B.Com / M.Com) or related accounts/finance qualification preferred.
- Minimum 2–5 years of experience in bookkeeping and accounting, preferably in the social development sector, NGO/non-profit organization, museum/cultural institution, or with a Chartered Accountant (CA) firm.
- Proficiency in accounting software such as Tally ERP 9 / Tally Prime.
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel, including data analysis and Pivot Tables.
- Knowledge of statutory compliance including TDS, GST, Professional Tax, ESI, and other applicable local tax regulations.
Key Responsibilities
- Handle accounting and revenue management related to:
- Admissions and ticketing revenue
- Donations and grants
- Gift shop sales and other museum income streams
- Monitor and track organizational expenses and budget utilization.
- Prepare financial statements including:
- Receipts & Payments Account
- Income & Expenditure Statement
- Balance Sheet and supporting schedules
- Ensure financial transparency, proper documentation, and compliance with accounting standards.
- Support grant management, donor reporting, and budget preparation.
- Coordinate with all museum departments for financial documentation, approvals, and reporting.
- Assist in maintaining internal financial controls and policies.
- Handle internal, statutory, and donor audits, ensuring timely submission of required documents.
- Support the museum’s financial sustainability through accurate reporting and compliance, helping secure future funding and donor confidence.
