Yokogawa India is seeking a highly skilled and driven Senior Application Specialist to lead application support, scientific collaboration, and technical pre-sales/post-sales initiatives for our advanced High Content Analysis (HCA) and High-Throughput Screening (HTS) portfolios. Based out of our Bangalore office, you will act as the crucial technical bridge between our innovative life science technologies and leading pharmaceutical companies, biotech firms, universities, and research institutes across India
Key Responsibilities (Mission & Specific Duties)
As a technical subject matter expert, your mission is to drive the adoption of Yokogawa’s advanced imaging platforms through workflow design, customer coaching, and strategic sales enablement:

Sales Enablement & Strategy: Partner closely with the sales team to achieve annual targets by developing business strategies, exploring opportunities, and managing customer accounts. Conduct market/competitor analysis and provide actionable insights.

Demonstrations & Technical Consultation: Perform high-impact, on-site pre-sales and post-sales demonstrations, handling customer sample imaging and precise data interpretations.

Workflow Engineering: Design tailored assays and workflows aligned with modern HCI market trends; assist clients in custom assay building and troubleshooting complex scientific challenges (e.g., Organoids, Spheroids assays).

Data Analysis & Automation: Leverage specialized data analysis tools (such as CellPathFinder, Harmony, In Carta, etc.) and demonstrate automated integration involving liquid handlers, robotic systems, and culture devices.

Advanced Imaging Portfolios: Deliver specialized demonstrations, application support, and workflows for Flow Imaging Microscopy (FIM) systems alongside core spinning-disk confocal HCA solutions.

Laboratory & Insights Management: Oversee the application laboratory's CAPEX instruments, consumables, and operational readiness while maintaining a keen pulse on competitor analysis to provide actionable commercial insights.

Scientific Thought Leadership: Stay continually updated with the latest research papers, patents, and biotechnology breakthrough trends, actively helping existing users publish high-impact data using Yokogawa HCA platforms.
Job Qualifications & Profile Requirements
Educational Background
-
Master’s or Ph.D. in Cell Biology, Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, Neuroscience, or a closely related life science discipline.
Working Experience
-
At least 8–10 years of proven, successful experience and track record in handling high-end scientific instruments, specifically High Content Analysis (HCA) or Confocal Microscopic Systems.

Advanced knowledge of general HCA applications across drug screening, academic research, universities, hospitals, and premier research institutes.

Proven history of cross-functional collaboration, team alignment, and strategic execution.

Has had hands-on experience on spinning disk confocal microscopes for different assays.

Additional experience of point scanning and/or super resolution imaging microscopes is preferred.
Professional & Technical Skills
-
Domain Expertise: Deep understanding of biology, biochemistry, genetics, pharmacology, or related fields. Practical, hands-on stream experience with Spheroids, Organoids, iPSCs, or Micro physiological Systems / Organ-on-a-Chip (OoC) is highly valued.

Regulatory Standards: Solid comprehension of data integrity and regulatory guidelines (21 CFR Part 11 & EU Annex 11, FDA, EMA, and ICH-GCP) as applied to drug development, clinical trials, or medical devices.

Biotech Trends: Familiarity with emerging biotechnology paradigms, including CRISPR, mRNA vaccines, and AI in drug discovery.

Commercial Acumen: Strong leadership, negotiation, and interpersonal skills with a proven ability to convince prospects through deeply analytical and technical acumen.
Core Competencies & Operational Requirements

Fluency in professional written and spoken English.

Good command of MS Office software applications and capability to comfortably utilize standard CRM/CPQ software (e.g., Salesforce).

Problem-solving, result-oriented mindsets with an ability to work under pressure and handle dynamic timelines.

Mobility: Willingness to travel frequently across India (minimum 50% travel across major pharmaceutical and biotech hubs) for pre-sales and post-sales technical engagements.
