Job Summary We are seeking a qualified Safety Engineer to oversee and implement Health, Safety & Environment (HSE) practices across electrical project sites. The candidate will be responsible for ensuring compliance with statutory safety regulations, company HSE policies, client requirements, and industry best practices. The role involves conducting safety inspections, risk assessments, training programs, permit management, incident investigations, and ensuring a zero-harm work culture at site.
Key Responsibilities Safety Management Implement and monitor HSE policies, procedures, and safety standards at project sites. Conduct daily site safety inspections and audits. Ensure compliance with applicable safety regulations, Electricity Rules, Factory Act, and client requirements. Monitor contractor and subcontractor safety performance. Risk Assessment & Permit Management Conduct Hazard Identification and Risk Assessment. Review Method Statements and Safe Work Procedures. Ensure proper implementation of Permit to Work (PTW) systems. Monitor high-risk activities including: o Electrical work o Work at height o Lifting operations o Excavation activities o Confined space entry o Hot work Incident Prevention & Investigation Investigate accidents, incidents, near misses, and unsafe conditions. Perform root cause analysis and implement corrective actions. Maintain incident records and prepare investigation reports. Training & Awareness Conduct safety induction programs for employees and contractors. Organize toolbox talks, safety campaigns, and emergency drills. Promote safety culture and behavioral safety initiatives. Compliance & Documentation Maintain HSE records, reports, and statutory documentation. Prepare monthly safety reports and KPI dashboards. Coordinate internal and external HSE audits. Ensure availability and inspection of PPE and safety equipment. Emergency Preparedness Develop emergency response plans. Conduct mock drills and emergency evacuation exercises. Coordinate with site teams during emergencies.
Qualification B.Tech / BE in Engineering (Electrical preferred) OR Diploma in Engineering. Full-time Diploma/Advanced Diploma in Industrial Safety from a recognized institute.
Experience 4 -10 years of HSE experience in Electrical EPC, Power Distribution, Transmission Lines, Substations, Renewable Energy, Utility Projects, or Industrial Construction.
