Job Description: Cloud QA Engineer (Data Engineering)
Role Summary
We are looking for an experienced Cloud QA Engineer to ensure the quality, reliability, and performance of an enterprise-scale data platform. The role involves validating cloud-native applications, data pipelines, semantic services, web interfaces, APIs, and search capabilities across multiple enterprise systems. The engineer will work closely with architects, developers, and business stakeholders to define test strategies, automate testing, and ensure high-quality solution delivery.
Key Responsibilities

Develop and execute functional, integration, system, regression, and end-to-end test cases.

Validate data ingestion pipelines, data transformations, metadata, semantic models, and data quality across multiple enterprise data sources.

Test Web UI, REST APIs, GraphQL services, and streaming interfaces.

Validate semantic search, keyword search, Natural Language Search, and data retrieval capabilities.

Perform API, database, and data validation using appropriate testing tools.

Develop and maintain automated test suites for functional and regression testing.

Execute performance, scalability, reliability, and security testing for cloud-native applications.

Collaborate with Data Engineers, Cloud Engineers, Architects, and developers to identify and resolve defects.

Track defects, verify fixes, and support release validation activities.

Contribute to test planning, documentation, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Required Skills

Strong experience in Functional, Integration, System, Regression, API, and Database Testing.

Experience testing cloud-native applications on AWS.

Experience validating ETL/ELT pipelines, data quality, and data transformations.

Experience testing REST APIs using Postman, Swagger, or similar tools.

Good understanding of database validation techniques.

Experience with test automation frameworks such as Playwright, Selenium, or equivalent.

Familiarity with Snowflake, data warehouses, and cloud data platforms.

Knowledge of validating CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.

Experience with defect tracking and test management tools such as JIRA.
Preferred Skills

Experience testing Data Engineering, Data Analytics, or Data Marketplace platforms.

Understanding of Semantic Layers, Knowledge Graphs, Metadata Management, and Data Governance concepts.

Familiarity with GraphQL, OpenSearch, Kafka/MQ, and cloud storage services.

Experience with performance testing tools such as JMeter.

Exposure to AI-enabled search or Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) based applications from a testing perspective.
