About the Role
Meraki Dezine is seeking a talented and proactive Project Architect to lead the planning, design, coordination, and execution of architectural and interior design projects. The Project Architect will oversee projects from concept through construction, ensuring design excellence, technical accuracy, timely delivery, and seamless coordination among clients, consultants, contractors, and internal teams.
The ideal candidate will have a strong architectural background, excellent project management skills, and the ability to independently manage projects while mentoring junior team members.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead architectural and interior design projects from concept development through construction completion.
- Develop design concepts, detailed drawings, construction documentation, and technical specifications.
- Coordinate with clients to understand project requirements and translate them into practical, innovative design solutions.
- Manage project timelines, deliverables, and resources to ensure successful project execution.
- Coordinate with structural, MEP, HVAC, lighting, landscape, and other specialist consultants.
- Review drawings for quality, accuracy, constructability, and compliance with applicable codes and project standards.
- Conduct site visits to monitor construction progress, resolve design issues, and ensure adherence to design intent.
- Liaise with contractors, vendors, and project management teams during execution.
- Supervise and mentor junior architects, designers, and drafting professionals, ensuring high standards of work.
- Identify project risks proactively and recommend practical solutions to maintain project schedules and quality.
- Prepare and deliver client presentations, design reports, and project documentation.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Architecture from a recognized institution.
- 3–6 years of professional experience in architectural design and project execution.
- Proven experience in independently managing projects from design development through construction.
- Good understanding of construction methodologies, materials, detailing, and building systems.
· Regulatory Compliance: Ensure designs comply with local building codes, zoning regulations, and other legal requirements.
· Quality Control: Review and approve all technical drawings and documents to ensure accuracy and completeness.
· Site Supervision: Conduct site visits to monitor construction progress, resolve issues, and ensure that the project adheres to design intent and quality standards.
· Team Leadership: Mentor and guide junior architects and designers; foster a collaborative team environment.
- Design Excellence: Demonstrated ability to develop innovative and functional design solutions.
- Experience in coordinating multidisciplinary consultants and external stakeholders.
- Strong leadership and team coordination skills.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and client interaction abilities.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, SketchUp, MS Office, and presentation software. Knowledge of Revit or BIM workflows will be an advantage.
Preferred Experience
Candidates with experience in healthcare, hospitality, commercial, or high-end residential projects will be an added advantage.
Exposure to projects involving multiple consultants and complex execution requirements will be an added advantage.
